View Full Version : Road & Track 2003-2005 Accord Owner Survey
ypsibird 12-30-2006, 05:27 PM Check out the February 2007 issue page 70. Very complimentary overall. The owners rated the Accord better than average (all cars surveyed since 1975) in all categories where the average was listed. I wasn't able to find the article online. Here's a couple of quotes from the article to pique your interest.
"I have six cylinders and six speeds. It's quick and nimble, yet luxurious and comfortable--the perfect middle-age man's sports car."
"When it came to complaints about their cars, many of the Accord owners found themselves hard-put to name five."
To my surprise the cars' weak point seemed to be it's styling. My wife and I spurned 2002 closeouts to get a 2003 coupe for it's additional features, power, and especially it's styling.
namegoeshere 12-30-2006, 05:46 PM I've got five complaints about the Accord:
1) A pillar -- a blind spot
2) B pillar -- a big blind spot especially when checking to see if it's clear to change lanes on the highway
3) C pillar -- another big blind spot
4) thin/low quality paint -- paint chips too easily compared to the paint on my old '91 Camry.
5) a little too much road noise -- wish it had more sound dampeners or whatever you call them.

The survey is with you on that one. They did list noise as one of the 5 worst attributes.

Good move, 'bird. R/T survey notes appear straight from here.
...looks like I fit the first survey comment to a "T"..........
...and that noise issue is sure in the ballpark.......
..seasons best, ez..
2006AS 01-01-2007, 05:58 AM Yea the quality of Honda's and Acura's paint could be better. The thin paint seems to be a common complaint. As for looks I have to agree, especially on the 4 door. I never liked the back of the 03-05 and would not have bought an Accord had it not been for the 06 redesign.
Amanda Moen 01-01-2007, 02:31 PM My complaint, they need to start selling the 6 speed with an LSD.
Okay, the blind spots up front are kind of annoying, especially when going around corners.
RedSoxHonda3 01-02-2007, 06:11 PM i hate how it does not have memory seats :thumbsdow
stiller fan 01-02-2007, 06:15 PM ^^^ that would take away from acura sales... :)

...thanks for the link.........(currently C/D subscriber).
..actually, it's an interesting article. Manual shift Accord folks number less than 20%. Given the slick 6M gearbox/rev-happy V6 combo, I would have guessed higher. I suppose there's a message there somewhere.
..best, ez..

Probably because there is such a small percentage of V6 6MT Accord's available.
