Here are some pics of the fog lights I just got from Ebay. I have to say, I am rather impressed and shocked. I have read everywhere about people having problems with the wiring, missing parts, crappy relays, pretty much everything. I decided to take the chance and order them, but back myself up. After 3 days of waiting they finally shipped my package, luckily I got them next day since they are shipped from 25 miles away. Anyways, to back myself up, I videotaped me opening the package from the beginning and laying out everything that was shipped, just in case they forgot pieces or shipped wrong parts.

Much to my surprise, everything was included and the quality was OEM or better, all wire colors matched Honda's installation instructions. It took me about 1.5 hours to get them all installed and wired. I flipped the switch and nothing, after about 3 hours of troubleshooting, I found out I didn't lock the plugs into the fuse box harness all the way. Got that fixed, and on came the lights.

Quickly after I did the "switch mod", to allow the fog lights to turn on anytime the parking lights are on, so either in high or low or just parking lights. You can find the DIY here, http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26265&highlight=switch+mod+fog

I'm still deciding on whether to put in yellow bulbs or artic white Nokyas.

Here are the pics from my crappy phone. One of them with the brightness all the way up. Oh and the headlights are off, just the parking lights are on.

That's the exact set I bought, from the same seller. The parts were great quality and the harness looked great.. but when I hooked it all up I'd push the button and the indicator on the switch will light, but no fogs. I've double and triple checked the wiring. After many hours I gave up and now they just sit there looking like they look nice :thumbsdow

so does the blue cable that came from the engine compartment just cut and capped so it doesnt do anything anymore?

also, why do they not allow fogs to come on with high beams stock? im sure theres a reason, just wanna know...

im getting my oem honda fogs soon (i would try the ebay thing, but i dont trust them and a have a 200 dollar gift certificate i won at my honda dealer)

Check the plugs going into the fuse box connector again, make sure you unlocked it and stuck them in the right way, you will see how the lock on the connector works and be able to tell which way the wires go. Also check the relay, Ebay fog lights are notorious for bad relays, hook up the 86 to the positive of the battery and the 85 to the negative, if it works, you should hear it click.

Don't quit, they are so awesome on.

Which light turns on, on the switch? The symbol or indicator light? The symbol will light if you have everything plugged in correctly inside, the other one won't light up if power isn't going to the switch, meaning check the engine area.

That's right, the blue cable is now useless from the firewall, mine is wrapped in electrical tape now. I used a simple "tap-in" connector to the red/black wire and it was done. I'm telling you it took me 4 seconds once I got the panel off.

Since you aren't supposed to use high beams during fog, to avoid being blinded by white, I'm sure they figured you wouldn't be using them with highs anyways. And as far as them not working with the parking lights, in some states (Cali) it's illegal to drive with just the fog lights on.

Yeah, I used the instructions Princess so generously posted in the 05 Honda section.

50 dollars is a good deal, too bad they only have coupe fogs available. Can you just get the trim ring for sedan fogs seperate from the actual fogs somewhere?

I can confirm that the sedan ones on ebay require that you purchase one relay separately from Honda, but the kit is high quality and fits perfectly.

I've actually bought 2 kits since a rock took out one of my fogs. Much cheaper than a single replacement from honda.

Y'all might want to get some protection on those lenses since they are rock-prone (www.xpel.com) I just bought it uncut.

what exactly is a "tap-in" connector?

also, will that mod work for 06 ?..im guessing its all the same so ya...

These are the tap-in connectors:

I'm guessing the mod will work, I don't think there is anything different for the 06's, but I'm not sure especially since you have the sedan.

I was wondering if anyone who has fogs, has installed the Nokya Artic White bulbs yet? I'm thinking about adding these since the bulbs that came with the fog lights are kinda yellowish and ruining the whiteness of the Silverstars. Sylvania and G&E don't make super-white H11 bulbs (not that I've seen at least).

I know yellow cuts through fog better, but I like the look of white lights in the front, and I don't exactly live in San Francisco.

I have these fogs and love them. Price, ease of installation, and awesome fit. The only error i made on istallation was not getting a good ground on the hood latch. This caused one of the relays to buzz like crazy lol. Once i relocated the ground all was well. I ordered the H11 Halo's to replace the bulbs that came with it.

I haven't seen them being sold anywhere. Can you point me in the right direction? They are H11.

anyone have them specifically for their 06 sedan? the 3 or 4 sellers of these all have 97-98% feedback, but the negative ones are pretty disturbing, such as "never received item, no communication, left light missing no reply, etc"

If all you get is what's in the pictures, you are going to need to buy some relays, I didn't notice them in the pictures. Also I hate how they put up the pictures of before/after white lights. It's so deceiving, do you know what car is in the picture? And how many other different auctions have the same exact picture.

Sorry I had to rant about that.

any luck finding one that comes with a relay? do you mean relay like a control box?

I haven't looked for the sedan fog lights, so idk. I know mine came with 2 relays, and I'm pretty sure you would need the same thing, since the only difference is the light itself. The wiring should be pretty much the same.

I also like the HID look and tried those MTEC super white x4 but you can't hardly see the road when it rains since light does not get reflected back unlike the yellow lights in fogs

so nobody has tried the 06-07 ebay fogs yet eh? Does anyone know exactly what is needed to get them to work? Think I might take a shot.

I brought the OEM ION Yellow foglights 03-05 accord coupe. I also got some OEM foglights for my fiance' TSX. They look great, but THEY AREN'T PROPERLY SEALED! They tend to get moisture inside somehow after intense rainfall. I removed them and re sealed with silicone. This tends to work. However with the right light housing, I had to repeat sealing a couple times. They look like factory but the housing are just knock offs. Just be mindful for anyone who intends to purchase them on ebay. Can anyone relate to what I am saying? I hope I'm not the only one.LOL

I've also been watching this - seems like the ones for the sedan have just become available in the last month.

The kicker is the shipping charge these ebay sellers have - $20-$28! Those selling the lights for ~ $70, have the $28 charge, while those at ~ $80 have the $20 charge.

The ones selling the OEM's (at $230) are only $10-$12.

I realize that they've got to make money, but why not just increase the price and charge reasonable shipping?

OK, down off my soapbox.

faderrific

I'm thinking they do that to get their listing to the top of the list, when sorted by price (low-high) since the sorting doesn't factor in shipping costs.

Or

They are hoping the sucker born last minute, will click buy it now, without factoring in shipping costs. And then be screwed.

I think ebay is charging seller fees based on product price, not on shipping (am I right?). That would make it advantageous for sellers to put as much of the product price into the shipping charge as possible. Also, think of the tax ramifications.

Think of your purchase price as the total, and there's your real price.

just bought some ebay foglights from a user on gen7 and i wanted to do the "switch mod" which is: disconnect the blue wire ("hot with low beam") and splice it into the red/black ("hot with parking & low beam"), but the wire colors are completely different on mine. so who's good with circuits and wiring? :D

circuit diagram from honda:
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b352/homdaism/fogs001.jpg

plug that goes into the switch:
http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/3529/dsc00365smallix0.jpg

tore apart the switch. heres the circuit board:
http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/5614/dsc00368smallrs7.jpg

i think this is how its set up. please confirm or deny!!!
black is ground
white is the "hot" wire to the switch illumination i should be splicing into
blue does nothing? (probably should be "out to illumination control" but the cheap switch doesnt have illumination control)
yellow goes out to fog relay
red is the "hot with low beam"

so if that's right, then...cut off red and splice into white?

faderrific

why is your switch taken apart???

Just cut and splice. that's it.

the wire colors are different from the OEM kit so i dont know which im supposed to cut and splice :(

Color does not matter just look at the tab and count the wires. Make sure the orientation is the same as in the photo from the mod instructions it will work.

This is better instructions and pictures by the same guy.

http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=97617&highlight=Foglight+Mod

Just splice the last wire farthest on the right with the second wire in from the left.
