snakehair 05-13-2004, 04:31 AM Good morning. I am new to this site. A question...Does anyone have experience or explanation for the VERY hot ignition key after removal from ignition switch? Mine ('03 V6/L) is uncomfortably hot after only being on in the ignition for 15 minutes or so. Seems worse on a hot day (??). Is there that much current being drawn thru the key? Im also having hot key ignition....:dunno: Im not driving a Honda... I have a 2001 Kia Reo,new when purchased.... I just notice hot key & opening where key inserts this afternoon, after driving maybe a mile... I have used only one key, no other keys have been on my ring. Its not a keyless remote... *maybe as another poster said, " its a extremely hot day"... I use a block out sun windshield protector but use it hanging across my streering wheel & column... I see other poster question was in the 2007 year? Did that/those posters get their hot key trouble fixed ? And how was the problem fixed ?.... Thxs Blueee Because you are driving a Kia RIO its difficult to know what the problem is. That could be an issue that is isolated to Kia Rio's or could just be an issue with your car. The posters last activity was in 2004, 8 years ago. Chances are he/she wont be returning to the site to answer if they get it fixed. | ||
