I have a '96 LX that needs the driver side power window motor replaced. I have the shop manual on cd, and all it says is 'remove the door panel' and 'remove the motor.' Before I dig in and take it all apart are there any problems I might encounter or tricks I should know about?
Also, other than price, what are the differences between the OEM motor and the ones I see on ebay for $60?

TIA.

There are lots of clips that holds the door panel in place. W/o shop manual you may break some of these.

I imagine the motors on ebay are fine. How much is a new one?

What CD manual do you have? I didn't think Helms had this on CD.

A new motor on ebay is about $60 + shipping. This is the motor:

I got a quote back from fairhondapartsforyou.com and they said $108 + $4 shipping for OEM. Hey hondacuraworld, can you beat that?

The service manual on CD is the actual ESM (electronic service manual) that Honda techs use, and it uses a pdf interface. I found it on ebay for $15. It covers years 95-97.

I found it now for $0.99. You think its an illegal copy or what?

$6.78 for S&H, you're joking right! If it came to my house with any less than 10CD's I'd be mad for that kind of shipping price! Maybe he's making money off that.
