I have a 1990 accord with 170,000 km and it is standard. I have a weird problem with my idle. When I stop at lights and let the rpm's drop, the idle drops really low and the car fells like it's going to stall. After a few seconds, the idle slowly goes back up to it's normal level.
I though that this might be an egr problem so I cleaned out the intake manifold but the problem persists. Anyone have an idea what the cause might be? I'm thinking it might be a broken vacum line somewhere.
TIA

First, welcome to the forum!!
Does this happen at running temp or more often when it's still cold?
The most likely cause is a crusty throttle body. Clean it & let us know.:)

My '99 only has 114K and it's doing this too. I was thinking possibly it's a weak battery (mine is getting there) or maybe a restriction in the air flow. I don't know, my air filter is pretty nice lookin and there's no leaves or anything in there though. I do have that sticky throttle body so princess might be right.

Thanks for the quick reply princess. I'll try it this weekend. My dad's 99 integra with 100,000 km is also having this problem so it might be the same cause.

possibly, it's pretty common. Some years/models are a bit more prone than others.

In my case, the sticky throttle body is only when cold, but the shaky throttle is only when warm. It could also be a A/F thing, that's what it was on my dads '86 300E but then that's a completely different car too.

I cleaned out the throttle body with some throttle body cleaner and it fixed the problem. It even worked on the 99 integra.
