Sorry Jay, I just stumbled upon your question by accident. For some reason the forum doesn't show that there is a visitor message pending! Anyhow my "ghetto" CAI works fine. I haven't had any downside even though I mounted the intake quite low. I doubt it provides much hp (1 hp if lucky!) it has done no harm and it sounds better, though not particularly loud. It adds a little "growl" at 3/4 to wot. Well worth the $10 and 2 hrs.
