G Stone, Those lights are strange are they not, not what one would expect. You will need to pull the passenger side fan to extract the alternator (the lower fan mount is a tight fit to get to). I had already replaced the drive belts a few months earlier during some other PM. I do not think you have to remove the passenger side engine mount to deal with the alternator. As I recall (do not have the engine to view), you have to remove the passenger side engine mount to replace the power steering belt, which is a bit of a pain (good to change the PS belt anytime you have that mount opened). The alternator change is a pretty straight forward task, using basic tools (and various length socket extensions). If you get a remanufactured alternator, have the parts store test it before you leave the store (I had a bad one)! Enjoy and good luck!
Hello. I was reading your post about how you had an alternator problem on your daughters V6 Accord. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday! All of the same lights came on as well. Very strange. I was going to ask you, how difficult / easy is removing and installing the alternator? I know the fan needs to come out, some people say to remove the motor mount to get more room, other people say not to. How difficult was it to remove the alternator belt? Any tips you could give would be great, I plan on tackling this Friday night. Good day sir.
