It would not work. The problem is not the lack of a shield but rather the HID capsule itself. If you do a search for some of my posts over the last 2-3 months you'll find good explanations of why HID bulbs and halogen headlights simply do not mix. Hope this helps

I can't sell the headlight unit separate because it's all put together and without those specific projectors in that setup unless you're handy and can re-do it with your own projectors it would be essentially useless for you. The reason I say that is that the original reflectors were cut to fit the projectors in there and there are holes drilled for mounting, etc. If you're interested in the whole set I would be willing to make you a deal and they're like I said plug and play, just have to install them which is way easier and less tedious than making them and aligning the beams centered, equally spaced, and horizontal :)
