I won't go into details but lets just put it this way, my retro was out of warranty when the CCFL rings stopped working. Not only that, I was getting tired of the blocky custom shrouds, so I took it upon myself to so some surgery on my retro to fix and replace the CCFL rings and shrouds. If knew how back then, I could have done my retro for around $500 or less saving more than half of what I originally spent.
As for one of these grills fitting an 05? Definitely not unless you do some major modification. I do know that there are companies that sell ABS plastic grills (similar in looks to mine) that will fit a 06 or 07; they probably sell ones that might fit an 05 also.

Thanks... I bought the grill on eBay a few years ago. While the pic in the auction was very convincing to make the grill look like it fit a US spec accord, when I received it, the grill was way out of proportion. Since the grill was made out of fiberglass, I took it upon myself to cut it up and make it fit my car; I wasn't about to send it back to the seller overseas.
I wouldn't recommend the company that originally did my retro. I believe there are many other retro companies that can do a better job. For what it's worth, I originally paid $1100 for my retro; that included (obviously) the retro w/custom shrouds and CCFL rings, D2S Bulbs, Ballast, and relay harness. I'm pretty sure now, since there are more retro companies available, that you can get a deacent one made for around $800 - $900.
