Yeah man its true. I heard it when I took my AUTO class that once in a while apply the safety or parking brake which aligned the brakes. While parked though :)

RE: "How does he want you to use your Parking brake..."

The tech told me to engage and disengage the parking break about once a week (while parked of course) and it should prolong the life of the rear brakes, several other techs chimes in agreeing with him... whether it's true or not i don't know.
