There are other things that went into doing the clutch without removing the subframe. An example of this was cutting a plastic clutch alignment tool down to about 3.5" and using it to hold the 32lbs flywheel in place while installing the flywheel bolts. The space in there is TIGHT but I've shown that it definitely can be done. I have videos I just haven't posted them to YouTube. In hindsight it was better that I did it this way because I didn't have a trans jack nor is my garage floor 100% level. With the subframe in place I could just lift the transmission into place like a bench press. It's not that heavy but I can see it being a problem for some. I wouldn't ever really recommend anyone do it the way I did but if I had to do it all over again I'd probably do it exactly the way I did. I would also do it in half the time because I'm now familiar with everything and would do things a little more efficiently. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
