Top 10 Cars of the 2012 NY Auto Show
 

Over the past few years Lexus has been referred to as a Japanese Buick, with the number one reason being the ES front-drive luxury sedan a car that drew direct comparisons with the not-quite-Cadillac GM premium brand. To erase those comparos the new 2013 ES gets a more stylish exterior with a GS-themed front nose and a profile more like the flagship LS.

Swapping its Camry underpinnings for an Avalon platform it has, however, grown even more in size a notable Buick trait. Plus, to challenge the eAssist mild-hybrid LaCrosse, there's finally now an ES300h hybrid system getting 39 mpg average.

My favorite from the show.

I wish the production cars looked even like 50% like the concepts. Why do they make the production ones so shitty? Is it govt. laws? Costs? Appeal? What is it? Obviously if you made a sexy concept and people loved it why wouldn't you produce it like that?

I mean i doubt the NSX will look anything like that...
I work for toyota and the production FRS we have looks like shit compared to the concept.

if you worked for a car company you should know why most concepts can't be produced the way they look. you already stated most of the reasons though.

That NSX concept will retain 90%+ of its look come production time. And it can, considering it'll be a ~$125k+ platform... :naughty:
