V6 PS pump is different, it has a replaceable pulley with nut, the L4 does not, it pressed on shaft, no nut or bolt to remove .

The LX has softer shocks than EX and coupe along with a more restrictive exhaust , maybe that is holding you back a bit in high rev's (above7k) .

Right, your pads are fine , just remove then ,clean out the dust and relube pins and backplates , make sure the inner pads tabs are lubed to with brake grease .

Try running on parkway(steady state speed) during day w/o AC and compare same at night again w/o AC on ....

Battery life would be shortened if it was constant 14.0+ all the time , when not needed .
It would be nice if they did better...

They can both be tuned to have same firmness on smooth roads but on washboard or very uneven roads the dual wishbone will have...

Back then GM used plastic covered teeth over a cast hub and over time the plastic got brittle and broke up , jumping a tooth or two ....

You do realize what your describing is a lose of power , the CVT is able (if programed correctly) to keep rpm at best TQ/HP for the speed and not lose and gain like a conventional geared transmission...
