You may have to do a few oil changes or cleaning , hopefully it doesn't...

Since you say oil changed helped . first how many miles on vehicle and any sighs of sludge or crud you can see like with oil...

the cam sensors are in back of head were trans bolts up right above flywheel (you can see the 2 plugs , one for each cam ).
The VTC solenoid is right in the front of front cover, just below valve...

Most all K24 first thing they do is remove the counter balance shafts, so most all performance will be for K20 type oil pumps .

I used to remove them all the time clients would forget or didn't know were there lock was .

they also moved the crank sensor to the ring gear so old K24 have it reading off front , right in back front cover .So harness work needed there if sensor is compatible with new ECU .
