Is there a better way to mount an XM antenna?

On my last car I could remove the side roof gutters and run the wire up to the roof that way. I don't see any way to do that on the Accord. So I have a bunch of questions here I'm hoping someone else has ran into.

For reference: I have the XM Skyfi2 sitting on top of the change box and the antenna cable running into the arm rest, then under the drivers seat, under the rear floor mat, tucked under the rear seat by the door, into the trunk, up to the center of the trunk, then the antenna magnetically mounted on the trunk in the back of the trunk by the rear window. (Probably pretty confusing a description, should I post pictures of this?)

I have the LX sedan, so as far as I know there is no XM antenna plug-in or am I wrong? If there is, how do I tap into it?

If not is there a better way to run the antenna?
I've heard it's actually best on the roof by the rear window but I see no way to get the antenna up there.

Thanks for answers. Sorry if I made your brain hurt.

Mine is mounted on the middle of my dashboard up tight against the windshield. It's barely noticeable and I get terrific reception. When I first did my install I drove around for a couple of days with the antenna mounted on the roof of the car, then back on the trunklid, but I never noticed any appreciable improvement in reception to warrant placement in any of those locations. If you click on the link in my signature for my Parrot Bluetooth kit install, you can see the antenna in some of the pictures. When you look at it in person it just blends right in.

I have my Sirius Antenna on the rear package tray next to the stop light hump, works great.

Thanks for the input, I had the antenna up on the dashboard in the rental car while waiting for the Accord, and then I just threw it up on the dash for a couple of days until I could find time to do a more proper mounting. It seemed as long as it didn't slide off the dash it was fine signal wise except when I pulled into the driveway. So I certainly could mount it there.

Sean, I saw you don't have a wire running up the dash to it. How hard is it to get into the dashboard to run that wire?

Well, I tucked the wire into the seam where the dashboard meets the window (there's an odd spongy material there) and just tucked it in with a popsicle stick as I worked my way over to the driver's side. Once there I just popped off that little access panel on the side of the dashboard (you have to have the driver's side door open to see it) and fed the antenna wire down through there. To keep the antenna in one place I used a very tiny piece of 3M adhesive (you know the gray stuff with the red backing they sell in auto parts stores) and it hasn't moved an inch since. The install was a piece of cake and only took about fifteen minutes. Good luck with yours!

I mounted mine the same way in the middle of the dash, tucked against the windshield. Reception is fine for the most part, but the annoying thing is that it drops off anytime I go under an overpass (even at 70+mph).

I'm thinking of mounting it on the inside of the windshield, behind the rearview mirror.

Does anyone have any other ideas on where to mount the antenna?

Thanks!
