Should this be connected to something?

Hey,
New to the forum, this is my first post.

Decided to replace my spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor this weekend. Thanks to all info and DIY tutorials on this forum (and some tools borrowed from work), everything went great. However, when I was replacing the distributor cap I noticed something. There is a small rubber cap on the top of a pipe next to the distributor (see pics below) that has a arrow on it, and a tail that looks like it might have been severed from something. I can't find any other disconnected parts, so I'm wondering if anybody knows what this is and if it serves any purpose? The only thing currently not functioning on the car is the A/C. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pretty sure that is your transmission breather, so any minor pressure build up within the transmission housing due to heat or frothing of fluid is harmlessly expelled into the atomsphere, this may also be used as a convienent spot to fill transmission fluid. The opening of the tube should be facing aft to prevent any mostirue coming through the front of the car from entering the transmission.

Just looked it up on hondapartsnow.com, looks like you're right! Thanks for the quick answer.

Next project is to see if I can get that A/C working before we see any more 100 degree days...
