Warranty and parts

Will installing a short ram intake and/or a magnaflow exhaust void my manufacturer and/or dealer warranty? Also, if possible, can you explain what would void the warranty on my 2008 accord ex-l coupe? Thanks a lot guys

there are also other threads about this.

in short, the magnuson-moss act of 1975 states that they will have to prove that your aftermarket item was the cause of the problem for them to deny warranty work. if not, they have to by law fix your problems under warranty. you should read over the whole document and keep a copy in your car too just in case .

for example, if you install HIDs in your car, and something shorts out and destroys your electrical system (all from the HID's faults), they wont cover it. but your engine itself should still be under warranty.

I'd stay away from any engine mods if you are concerned about warranty. It's true they'd have to prove your aftermarket part(s) caused the problem BUT you won't win in the long run if they refuse to fix it. I mean, how much money would it cost you to get a lawyer and fight the dealership or manufacturer? It's not worth the hassle.

As far as the Magnaflow CBE, it should not affect any warranty as it is basically two new mufflers.

That only applies in the US, I don't think we have a similar act in Canada, I couldn't find it.
