Takeda SRI.... Wow.

So, I was on the edge of the takeda SRI, as it seems to be the intake of choice around here... and I managed to hold off until it went on sale for $173 last week, and I broke down. - It arrived today, and I took the half hour out of my afternoon to install it.

I just have to say... mixed with the Weapon-R iThrottle, it is one impressive setup. For anyone hanging on the edge, take the dive for this SRI. - It gives the perfect output tone, becoming loud enough when you want it, and quieting down when you don't.

yeah I'm slightly more excited than I should be... - I'm just glad it's what I hoped it would be.

----------------------------------------------------------------

By the way.... - I opted to wait on the pre-filter, but is that something you guys think I should really go for? Has anyone without it regretted not getting it?

The pre-filter certainly doesn't seem imperative - just a little extra protection between cleanings. You should be able to slip it on without removing the filter.

The OP got the intake for a 4 cylinder, not a 6. The 4 cylinder version is cheaper.

I wouldn't say the pre-filter is necessary, but it is proven that these filters work by allowing in more air, thus more dirt. If I can keep the filter in better condition by putting a mesh over it, increasing the life of my engine, I would go for it. I had to take off my intake to get the pre-filter on when I added it after the fact.

if you have an I4... you should be able to do it within an hour using basic tools. Just follow the instructions provided with the kit (they come specific for our accords) and you should be set. I was actually surprised how easy it was to install.

Depends, do you have I4 or V6? Install on the V6 takes a little (hourish) while because you have to replace a metal set of pipes with rubber hoses that come with it. No experience with the other.

How does the pre-filter actually help? I've seen those before for CAI to help prevent water (minimal amounts) coming in.
