You should check what % is legal in NY first. 20% and lower is illegal where i live, RI, so I have 30%. Good Luck!

In NY you can have up to 35% tint on the side 2 windows, any percent tint on the back and 6in of non-reflective tint on the front windshield.

I always go darkest legal all around, I hate the look of different tints %s. Here in FL I believe the max you can go is 28% but you can get 20% and go with no problems, because is hot down here and cops "understand" you. In NY I believe is 30% so I would go that all round. I like my car to look even.

Here is the tints % for every state: http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/

Forget the legal limit. In indiana it is 35%, I still got 15% because they don't really enforce it. That is unless they decide the stereotype and assume you may be doing something illegal.
Example: My 93 crown vic had 15%. I got pulled over in northwest indiana. Rolled the window down and the officer's face was priceless. He was kind of surprised. He came up with the crap reason for the stop then let me go.

I just got my tint done yesterday on my 04 black coupe, Where I live (MA) the legal tint use to be 35%, they bumped it up to 38%, every local tint shop wanted 200+ for tint.. ON A COUPE! I went to a dangerous neighborhood and got 20% for 130$.

20% is the way to go, I had the legal tint on my previous car and it is just way too light, better off saving money if your gonna go with legal tint oh and whatever you decide never get different %s on back or rear window, do everything the same all around I'll post a pic soon to show you how dark 20 is

Exactly.....
Or because I had on all my Purdue Football gear because I was home for break. Then he asked me where I went and I told him. I think he understood it quickly there after. I did have to go in the next day and show registration or something. But he even admitted to me that the tint and car is something they are told to look for.

I still don't get why that's priceless. But whatever floats your boat.

I have an 07. I put 20% on both the front left and right window. With 15% in the back. I didnt tint the windsheild because with so little light getting into the car from the other windows the windsheild looks dark enough from the outside. But I can see out just fine atnight. And i dont live in a big city with lots of lights to help me see out either. 40% is as dark as most people iv heard do on there windsheild if your convinced you need too.

I would go 35% all around. I did it on my Speed3 and it looks great with a dark grey car.
