Fog lights dont work nomore!

Well they stopped working last night. I checked all the connections and grounds. So what could it be? relay gone bad or switch gone bad? I can hear the relay click every time I press the switch on/off

Fuse was checked and its fine. I doubt it is bulbs since both went out at same time.

I've had both of mine go out at the same time once, could have been a surge somewhere like powering on your car with the fog lights already on or rain water getting in somewhere. Double check your bulbs to rule it out.

I checked the fuse with tiny fuse tester that I have. I can hear the replay click but no I haven't tested it nor am I sure how to since I don't have DMM. Its aftermarket!

Do you have access to a multimeter? This will give you the answers you need whether you have a faulty connection and from what point or if it isa bad part.

You may have a faulty relay. Since its aftermarket, you'll be able to walk into a parts store and pick up a relay for dirt cheap in their fog light section. As cheap as those relays are, it doesn't hurt to try.

That's what I was thinking too but wasn't sure since relay still clicks every time I press the switch on/off. I will try getting the relay tom but by any chance you think it could be the switch? It lights up tho.

Relays will still click even when they fail. Not all the time but it happens. There's still a strong enough magnetic field inside the relay when it clicks but not enough to hold the "switch" inside to make contact.

It is very possible what happened to you here is what happened to me...there are those wires that go in to the under hood fuse panel and in there is the ground...my build in relay on the 7.5 gen went bad so it did not realize it was grounded...so I unhooked the wired and grounded it to chassis and it worked...this took me weeks to figure out.

A relay can fail several ways:
- Open coil;
- Short-circuit coil;
- Resistive contact;
- Welded contact;
- Open contact;
- Mechanical problem that prevent it to move;
- etc...

Only way to test it is to use a multimeter to check the contact, as well as a power supply to be able to operate the relay so you would be able to test the contacts both when the coil is energized and not energized.

Also, note that some relay might function right when cold, and have a problem when hot...
