Where do you keep your cell phone??

I can't seem to find a good place to put my phone. My past cars were a '99 Escort ZX2 and an '00 Taurus. I kept them in the cup holders but they were far enough in front of me to be able to quickly glance down and see who's calling or something. I can't do this in my Accord.

I've tried setting it on top of the "Not An Ashtray" but it'll slide around when turning and stuff (what's that for, anyway?). Same thing with keeping it on the passenger seat.

Does anyone have a ProClip? Is that working out ok? I think I'm going to wait to buy an iPod adaptor until I can find out where the iPhone will be kept.

Since I usually ride alone, I place it on the passenger seat. Only slides a lot if I make hard turns

If I have a passenger, it goes in the cupholder

I keep mine in the 'cubby' under the radio. You could leave the door to it open to see who is calling but I keep it closed so I don't get distracted.

I've thought of the cubby. I'll have to take out any sharp keys and stuff from there, but I'll give that a try. Free and out of the way.

The vent one looks nice too. And that window shade looks interesting. Is that the custom fit one? I've seen one somewhere online. A lot more expensive then the O'Reillys one but could be worth it.

how is that arkon vent mount? i was actually going to order one sometime soon but am worried it will be too wobbly.. or bad quality. i want my phone to sit firmly in one spot while driving so i could use it for gps without the phone sliding or falling or being unstable when im going to grab it. what are your inputs on the product?

The vent mount is good. Its firm, but if you like the launch your car, the phone is going to come flying out if you don't squeeze the sides tight enough.

For normal driving, it'll hold and doesn't move around.

Here is a cheaper one for $5

I wouldn't say I launch my car, but you say if the sides are holding the phone tightly it should be fine even with more aggressive driving? How about when the phone is turned 90 degrees, in the landscape position (because it says the mount has a 360 degree spinning radius)? How well does the phone hold then since the top of the phone has nothing holding it down? If the sides are squeezed tight would it still hold it in place or would i fly right out the side on a sharper more aggressive turn?

I've seen that one before as well, do you know anything about that one? Cheaper sounds nice, but may not always be good... I wouldn't mind paying $10 more for a better quality product that holds my phone in place firmly no matter what.

I've had the car for 2 years and I still haven't found a good place for it. It rotates from the front cup holder to the door to the passenger seat. I usually have a water bottle with me, so it usually can't ride in the cup holder which is the most convenient place for me. When I use the phone navigation it goes on the little "Not Ashtray" door, like mentioned above, but it does slide around. I keep telling myself I'm going to get a mount and never do. I'll figure something out about the time I'm ready to replace it.

phone should be in a mount, especially if you intend to use it mostly hands free while driving (use one touch answering and bluetooth communication or speakerphone).

It's pretty stable in landscape mode. That is a broken phone pictured but I did use my phone on my drive home and it was good.
