I would not feel comfortable. Too few turns of the lug nut.

You can test it though by using some washers that are about 7 to 8mm in thickness, then mounting your wheel up and seeing how many turns you get on the lug nuts. But be careful as to not strip you wheel studs.

Glad I saw this post...I was planning on picking up some 15mm spacers for my stock wheels on my LS-S Which has 17" wheels. I had just assumed I would be able to pop those things on and then pop the wheels back on? Is there more to it? sorry total noob here. Also, after reading here....would you guys think 15 is too big for the stock 17" I just want to fill that gap and make it more flush...that rear gaps killen me...

You will have NO problems with the Honda Accord 17" EX, EX-L, Touring wheels nor the 19" HFP wheels.

The problem lies only with the Sport trim 18" wheels.

Go ahead and get the 15mm spacers. It will work for your particular wheels.

Has this been verified on a second set of OEM sports wheels? Just in case this is not a first production run "mistake" or caracteristic ?

As this has been discussed before...

I highly doubt Honda (or Enkei) made a "mistake" when designing and manufacturing this wheel.

They do not design and manufacture wheels with the thought that people will add spacers requiring pockets.

They design wheels with structure and balance in mind.

i will try like hell to get some time this weekend to put mine up on a jack, pull the wheel and snap a pic or two just to debunk this possibility. i will say i know like on2 said, enkei isnt just gonna do thousands and thousands of these wheels and halfway through go "woops! okay change the castings."
dollars to donuts, they (sport 18's) are all the same.

speaking from experience, about 10 years ago i used to put 10mm slip on spacers on my first 240sx, and i stripped threads and sheared lugs regularly. i called it quits when i nearly lost a wheel on the freeway one day. talk about a wake-up call...
now the biggest slip-on i will use is 5mm and thats extreme for me. like i said last page, i prefer to use 3mm slip on. otherwise i go with bolt-on.

If anyone is in south Florida with a sport, I would be happy to also try. I have a floor jack, an impact gun and a soft lug socket. It will take 10 min and I will come to you....the dealer I was going to try cites insurance issues unless a tech does it for shop rate, no thanks...

Got some good tips from BPearl2010 on how to widen the pockets on the sport wheels. I'm thinking of attempting this. What I need to figure out is which spacer to get. 15, 20 or 25mm for the flush look.

Get two bubble levels and place against fender and wheel face (not tire) and measure.

I crudely did this and got about 25mm.

Just so the info is out there, 17" Civic si wheels from the 06-11 era don't fit our Accrord. You NEED a spacer that is at least 3mm to clear the caliper at the front.

if thats the case, no need to widen those pockets!
i will get 25mm if/when i get spacers.
but for the price of spacers i might just go for some XXR 531 wheels.

A quick note. I dropped the car at a shop yesterday to install my 17" SI wheels with winter tires and, what I had feared came true, they don't fit. I'm missing aprox 3mm of clearance between the caliper and the inside of the wheel...

I looked around for a quick fix but couldn't find anything.

So I called novustech.ca and the guy who owns the place was very helpful and knowledgeable.

I purchased 5mm front hubcentric spacers and, since he gave me some valuable info, I ordered my 15mm hubcentric spacers for the back too including longer studs, instead of the bolt-on spacers...

If you're in need of spacers, those guys are great

Wheel spacers for factory 18" wheels

Have a 25mm set of akata spacers ordered.
I should have them mounted by the 28th.

Leaving the fronts alone.

For reference, I have a EX-L V6 Coupe.
