Does the iSimple have a "random/shuffle feature?

I am considering switching to the iSimple because my USA Spec in my 08 TSX does not go back to the last song it was on after an extended period of being disconnected.

However, the isimple tech support guy told me there is no random/shuffle feature. That is a deal breaker for me. Can anyone confirm this one way or another?

If it does have a random/shuffle feature, does it stay on or do you have to keep turning it back on every time you disconnect?

press number two on the radio and it'll switch to random song. I have one. Also if you have an iPhone and jailbroken you can download 'noaccsplash' and that will take the "Accessory Connected" message and give you full control over it the iPod feature and still allow the steering wheel to change songs.

Will this work in "all songs" mode? In other words, will it shuffle through all of the songs on my iPod?

When you get out of the car and disconnect the iPod at night, when you get back in the next day and reconnect it does it pick up right where you left off on the same song?

Technically yes, however, many times mine will pick up on that last song and then continue through all songs in alphabetical order. If it is on the artist and all songs by that artist it doesnt seem to matter.
If you have an iphone 5 with the iphone 4 connector on the end of the iSimple, you might have to disconnect the iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 connector and then reconnect. Sometimes it sees the connector as a device is still connected. Since the iPhone 5 has no jailbreak yet, these are the quirks I've had to learn to deal with. Nevertheless, I couldn't be happier with my iSimple!

For me yes it does. Can't speak for the newer products.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you're saying. You mean even if you had it on shuffle/random it will go to the next song alphabetically?

If not, does the random function work like the USA Spec where it will let you shuffle through your entire library (all songs) and stay on random until you turn the setting off? Thanks!

Yes, by pressing 2 on the radio it will go to random. Another trick is to select all songs and then select shuffle and the iPhone/iPod will begin playing the songs, then just plug it in. These are things I have done to make it play by shuffle. I think its the ipod that does it, not the iSimple. All I know is I'll be listening to say "A bxxxxx " and then the next song will be "A Cxxxxx"

How about this, I'll make a youtube video of my iSimple and post it, would that help you?

That would be excellent. If you could show specifically the random/shuffle functioning

The USA spec has no radio operated random function at all? You have to pickup the IPod itself and go to random play all? If so I'm damn glad hillstones' grumpy ass convinced me to get an Isimple... my Ipod stays in the center dash storage cubby.

No the USA Spec does have random, that's not the problem. The USA Spec's problem is it automatically starts back at the beginning of the playlist after being disconnected for a little while. It's extremely annoying. Does the iSimple do this too? I was told it doesn't.

The reason I'm asking about random is it's a deal breaking feature for me so I want to make sure that the iSimple has it before I switch

Nope the iSimple continues right where you left off. Furthermore, it charges even when the car is off! Let's put it this way, of all the iPod controls to install in our cars, the iSimple IMHO is THE BEST option, and I could not be happier with mine!

I'm saying does it pick up on the same song even after the iPod has been disconnected for a while?
