Edit: Accord button seems longer
JDM Inspire and TSX is the Accord in Euro.

Euro Accord (Tsx) had these long before!! I was looking into replacing mine but never got around ordering one.

You won't be seeing these in N.A

Because the US market is the unwanted step child of markets.

Look how long it took for us to get ABS, ESP, heated seats, HID lights, rear head restraints, rear shoulder belts, keyless go. All of these features were mainstreamed in Europe first and took many years to trickle over to US and Japanese models in this market.

True, Jensen introduced ABS on the 1966 AWD FF using a modified Lockheed system and the 68 Ford T bird had rear ABS as an option as well as the 73 Imperial with 4 wheel ABS-Other than the Jensen, there is no evidence that any Ford or Chryco were sold with these features but they were available much like airbags as a special order on GM cars as early as '73 and a very few were sold. These items were not mainstream in the US until the late 80s to mid 90s fully ten years after Europe.

The same applies to luxury and convienence items today-just look to our friends to the north and see the extra features they get that are unavailable here.

For many years I've been reading european automotive magazines. I've always wondered why the rest of the world would get so many awesome vehicles that would never make it to our shores.

Honda forgot this cover on our Accords

I'm glad that cover isn't there- that's where my ScanGauge 2 is mounted.

I know the Canadian market got a better touring and a few things better then the US market this time around but you guys need to realize that this is one of the few times where we didn't screwed out of something that you guys get. All my life I've seen things on American Honda's that Canadian's didn't get. Be it accessories, options, colors etc. And it's not just Honda doing it either. My first Mazdaspeed got plain carpet mats, but in the USA the americans got Mazdaspeed mats, and we only had two colors where the USA got more. I could list examples forever but just believe that these things that Canada got this time around and you didn't is very rare for us....and we still pay a LOT more for our cars and our Dollar is on par...which is getting really old.

agreed...not much of this complaining of why Honda does what they do in other countries makes little sense without looking at the MSRP"s of these units and their warranty length. Can anyone get the MSRP of the loaded Russia and Saudi cars?

I have posted this before - in each country's distributor daughter company, owned by Honda Japan, sits a person who has a job called "product planner". There are probably 4 or 5 in Amer Honda - a civic PP, an accord PP, an SUV PP, etc. He decides what options to offer based on the the competition has. If the competition at a certain level does not offer a certain option (like a back up cam) he usually does not offer it either...If the model is slow selling, they may offer it to get a jump. So unless you know what the competition offers in each country, you really don't know why Honda did such build recipes.

Yep - it's all down to the insanely low prices car are sold for in the US. It really is a miracle of production automation that cars are as cheap as they are and can still be profitable. anyways

wuuld still be nice to have some of this as an options at least - the wood trim is so much nicer than the obviously fake stuff on non-sport/coupes - which is actually pretty nice....note the steering wheel too..of course there is the Acura factor in the US too which rules out making Accords too nice.

new accord will be playing in "business" class where prices are bit higher then prices in "D" class where accord played before.
let say fully loaded camry can be priced as high as $50K. but it has independent rear climate control, reclining rear seats, rear entertainment center etc.

never understood why people would pay so much for "unluxury" car.
but again, they buying jetta and golf for 35K, so 50K for loaded camry or accord might seem like pretty good deal to some...

and you also don't know what the local customs are. I remember one car that was built in the 90's and in that country the name had to be changed as the name chosen was a number and letters like RX7. Translated, it meant bad luck.

Also a car built for some part of Africa that had every compartment in the car open so it could be seen, as the populace was very distrusting of closed off areas....

also, are any of these countries devoid of the acura line? then Honda needs to make a fully loaded car? In China BMW makes a stretch limo like 328 (iL) as they like low prices, but BIG cars...

pretty sure there it is not russian model, accord they sell in russia, is not the car we have here, (exsept for crosstour), they have european version, of accord, pretty much acura tsx downgraded. that is for authorised dealers, unathorised\small dealers, bring us accords from usa, where they are cheapest.
