It's kind of just a pet peeve of mine to see the top of the rear windshields that way, just feels incomplete to me if you know what I mean. Though tons of people are perfectly fine with it.

Nope. Ohio inspections aren't physical like many states, though. If it's a semi-new car (OBDII) they just plug in the cable and read the barcode under the windshield for 2 minutes. If it's an older car they hook up a monitor to the exhaust and the gas tank.

There's no "visual" inspection at all, and it can't fail for anything other than errors being thrown or severe pollution warnings. They don't monitor things like tint or aftermarket modification.

Strange thing? They won't even fail you for open headers, as long as no errors are thrown.

Even when Florida did inspections they never inspected for window tint.

When I lived out in San Diego they were VERY strict on certain things like smog checks and such but I don't recall them checking tint.

Tint isn't checked.
Regionally however some police will be more strict than others.
In Sacramento I was pulled over and given a verbal warning about my 50% tint on the front windows of my civic.
In San Francisco, I always rolled my windows down before passing by a police station.
Regionally there's just less tolerance at certain places for tint.

Here's my contribution. The dealer had already tinted the back windows, it looked like 20%, I tinted the fronts 35%. Not the best Picture, will try to get a better one later

Will premium fade? I would invest in a color stable film. You don't want your tint to fade in couple years. Your car will look ugly with blue/purple fade tint.

That's the main difference between them, the color stable has the same lifetime warranty as the premium but adds a warranty that it will not purple. It is my main pet peeve of tints. Probably worth the extra bucks.
