Anyone having Sub 19MPG?

No matter how careful I drive the car, I can never get over 19MPG. Although
I drive close 100% city driving, I don't expect this low of mileage with such careful driving.

Does anyone here have a mileage is that less than 19 on I4? What's ur driving style, and driving conditions?

Do these accords really use that much fuel?

Even with an intake and a heavy foot my last tank avg 25mpg. How many miles do you have? and when was the last time you had it serviced, what brand of gas do you use?

Only 30K miles and I havn't serviced it since I bought it just last month. The gas brand is shell.

I check tires, changed transmission fluid, verified brakes after I got the car, what other services do you think could detect a possible cause?

For 100% city driving, that sounds about right. Do you ever do highway driving?

I know it would be much worse compare to highway driving. But what's the average? Does it supose to be around 18-19? Some folks here seem to get 30+ on highway, do anyone have figures for pure city driving then?

I have the exact same problem, I do about 50/50 city/highway driving and no matter how careful I drive, I only end up getting about 22 mpg max. That's top of the line. My car only has 40k on it and has no engine problems. Have had all oil changed and maintaince required my honda as well. I asked them about it and they just gave me a flyer on mpg info with tire pressure, city/highway driving, pretty much simple stuff I already knew which wasn't helpful. It irritates me with me having a 4-cylinder and a lot of my friends have 4-cylinder cars and they averagee about 25-30.

Don't forget the car weighs about 3,500 pounds, that's a lot of inertia to overcome. If you drive 100% in city or you are an aggressive driver that uses their brakes a lot, your mileage will reflect that. I do a 50/50 mix and average about 29 MPG.

Probably will make it worse as you'll want to hear your engine roar.

I drive 60% city 40% hwy, when I first purchased the car, I drove it like a teenager that just got his first car, hovering between 15-18.5 mpg. But for the past 2 weeks I averaged about 26mpgs, which I consider fair.
