You might not believe this but a sales co-worker of mine lost a sale yesterday on a 13 accord because the front of the seat would not go down low enough. ie he wanted the opposite of what everyone here is talking about....So tough for car manufacturers to design cars to fit everybody.....

Me thinks these would work well for some of us 8th Gen LX owners.

I myself could use some under knee/thigh support so I'm not constantly having to use my feet to keep myself positioned.

Electric or manual seat adjust for the seat cushion on the passenger seat would make everyone happy. Over the years, Honda has done allot of things right. Seat comfort isn't one of them, in my opinion. The exception is our 2011 Odyssey.

I agree, Honda should have enough seat adjustment to fit everyone. Just 1" more would make a world of difference.

That beeing said, it's such a simple mod that there's no excuse for anyone who's unconfortable in their seat not to do it....

I don't believe anyone posting on this forum is holding themselves out to be experts in mechanical engineering or physics. The solution presented here shows the front of the seat being supported only by the bolt and no longer rests on the floor of the car. Who can truly say whether this will make a difference in the performance of the seat anchor in a severe crash? I don't think anyone can. Personally, I wouldn't trade the unknown safety element for a more comfortable seat angle, but obviously there are many here who disagree. To each his (her) own.

I have held off purchasing a new Accord due to seat comfort in the back cushion rear - just doesn't feel right to my back. As to the seat angle, if I had purchased one of these cars and had a seat angle problem on the passenger side, I'd be looking to adapt electric seat parts from the drivers side to the passenger side. At least I'd have a factory tested system. Expensive and time consuming, but for me and my family, safety has to come first. I'd hate to see my wife's seat come loose in a crash and land her on our 3 year old or 6 year old. And until you crash test the new configuration and see where the seat goes, you can't really say it isn't a problem.

First off Grover, you make a very cogent point and as one of the main complaners early on re: the poorly designed seat angle I can not argue with you on this. I doubt going with a company like extendmyseat.com would suffice because I am sure they do not do any crash testing. People install seats and brackets all the time in conversion vans, sports cars, custom rods, etc. but usually these components are DOT approved even if not crash tested.

Re: The back seat if I read you correctly I observed the following. I never sit back there so I wouldn' know. I spent a lot of time at the auto show sitting in the back of many cars. the '14 impala was the worst: short, flat, devoid of support. Lincoln MKZ also terrible. Most cars were marginal at best including our beloved Accord. Two cars stood out as superb in rear seat comfort unrelated to leg room. Both the Azera and Genesis were stellar and nothing from any maker came close.

I did not pay much attention to the Accord because it's just the thee kids back there. We went to dinner with another couple and wifey commented that the back seat was uncomfortable as did our friend upon questioning.

not hard at all. Many Cars solved it years ago. Honda is as usual behind the game. It's called height adjustment on the passenger seat too. Just mirror the drivers seat controls and most people should be happy. They got the seats already, they are in their right hand models.

Can understand that one... I'm around 6'5"/6'6" and got the model with the sunroof unfortunately. Love the car, and while I am able to fit in it leaning back, the seat hurts my back/neck.

If I position the seat enough up to feel a bit better, my hair hits the top of the roof....

The model without the sunroof would have been a better choice, although I still may not be extremely comfortable.

If anyone knows of a way to lower the seats more...

Actually, I meant to write "seat back" of the front seat (as oposed to the seat cushion). The last generation seemed to poke me in the back between the shoulder blades. My wife's 2003 Accord has a pretty hard seat cushion tath did wear in over time, but took a couple of years. My brother has a 2011 RL and while his seats are comfortable, the seat bottom is also a bit "flat".

I'm waiting to get a chance to drive a friend's 3 month old Accord Touring (2013). The driver's seat should be well broken in by now and if it is comfortable, I'll likely pick a 2013 up or wait for prcing on the 2014 standard hybrid.

www.extendmyseat.com is looking for a test vehicle to make spacers for. And that person will get them free not a bad deal if you lived close to them in Cali and needed them . IMO Dan
