Talking Brand New Accord Detailing

I just bought a brand new '05 Accord EX w/Leather. I was wondering what things should I do for waxing (any do or don't) also this is my first car with leather. What do I need to do with the leather and is there a waiting period before applying products.

Thanks,
Ryan

1st thing Welcome to the Forum

As far as you leather care.... Lexol products are some of the best locally available products.. can be found a Pep boys...

Exterior care.... It all depends on how in depth you want to go and how much time you are willing to spend on you car.

You will find that everyone will give you different product recommendations due to the fact that everybody has their own opinions and thats cool.
If you are just a casual detailing person I would recommend Meguiars or Mothers products also easy to find in local stores.

One recommendation I will make is to pick up a clay bar kit either Clay magic(my personal favorite)Megs or Mothers..
That way you can prep your surface after washing and before applying sealants and/or waxes.

Get a quality wash mitt(lambs wool) and pick up some microfiber towels
Meguiars has several new styles out there that are very good from what I have been reading.

Hopefully this will get you started on the path of proper car care.....

Oh that reminds me check out some of the detailing suppliers in this thread for instructions on car care.....
The proper auto care site is one of the best........for explaining in layman's terms....

Hope this helps
If you have any other ?'s feel free to ask

Follow up

Thanks Inspector1:
Just a follow up...When should I apply the leather care products? Do I need to wait some time because it is brand new? Should I use a cleaner then a conditioner?

You can clean and condition leather seats while car is still @ dealership.
Keeping you leather clean and conditioned is a key to making it last longer.

Hey RF-I think I read somewhere on this board where you had a PC? if so is it true that it vibrates like crazy and if so what do you do to reduce the vibration? I'm working on my car next weekend and just ordered a PC and wanted some advice on working on a Black Car. I'll be using wet paint as my sealant(glaze) and Nu-finish as my polish. I don't plan on using claybar since the car is only 16 months old.

A PC does not vibrate excessively in my opinion but I don't give it a death grip either. It's easy to guide with one hand and a light grip on horizontal surfaces.

Nu finish is a reasonably good over the counter product but it's not correct for removing marks & marring. PM me and let's see what can be done to get you on the right track. For instance......what pads did you order with the PC? PM me, I'll be up for a little while.
