The extra gear (6 vs 5) and the classic VTEC application probably help.
How many miles on your coupe? Do you drive with the AC on? Do you use E10 gas?

I drive the same way (80mph in 6th gear) and I'm getting a consistent 21mpg. My car only has 3500 miles.

Almost 100% of the stations use it. I've been getting my gas at Kroger lately, and their pumps don't have E10 tags for some reason. So I don't know if they use it or not. EVERYbody else around here is.

I just drove 95% fwy from LA to SD in Cali. with and without A/C. Averaged about 70mph and I got 26 MPG. Car has 1300 mile on it. Fist long drive in my Accord. I jumped on the peddle a few times.

Just curious, but why do you fill up so soon? It has an 18.5 gallon tank. I usually fill up after the light has come on, meaning there is appx 2 gallons left, which is enough for another 50 miles. When I fill up I usually put in 17 to 17.5 gallons.

Oh, and I haven't kept a log but I get similar numbers to you. I do reset my trip computer at each fill up and I've never gotten below 24mpg and usually get ~26.
I was getting 27-28 when I really tried hard, but the V6 is just too much fun

Ugh.

MB27, you in VA too? I wanna do a VA meet sometime in the next couple months. I know there are at least 3 other NoVA cats on here. Richmond isn't too far and we could meet in the middle somewhere.

It's a habit of mine. I've tried to fill up when it hits 1/2 to 1/4. I'm the kind of person who likes to be ready for any contingency. Keeping enough gas in the tank for any emergency is one of those things.
Especially highway driving. I NEVER let it drop much below 1/2 before I start looking for a statioin.

Have traveled the entire country several times. Trust me, there are places in this country you can drive for hours without seeing a fill point.

I know the money's the same, but the psycological impact of a $75 fill up is harder than a $40 fill up.

I do find I play a little game about seeing how much I can keep the ECO light on for.....it definately helps on the mileage. But this car is pretty quick....much more surprising than I thought. It is no 400HP Trailblazer SS but it is pretty quick....I just have to resolve myself to thinking of it as transporation and not a race.....

My highest MPG was 90% highway, 30.1 mpg. Lowest was 20 mpg.

Has anyone tried increasing tire inflation up couple psi? less tire contact area with the road, less heat generated and lower rolling resistance. I mean it makes sense thinking about it, I'm gonna have to try it out.

I average out at 25 MPG. My worst is 19 MPG, that because my sister was in the car with me. (Shes real heavy.) But so far i'm real happy with the car. I got about 7000 miles on my car now.

I have better things to do than logging mileage, but for folks who do (and own a Navi equipped car), have you noticed what's the difference in your numbers vs the trip computer? It should be close. But whatever difference, you should be able to figure it out with a few tank fulls of logging... then you can stop. Later gang.

Hi Everybody !

Hi everybody I am new to this forum. My name is Mark and I am from Fort Worth TX.

I am a member of the TwoWheeledTexans forum and thats where I found out about this forum. I have had so much fun reading all your posts that I just had to join in the fun and maybe add my 2 cents now n then.

I just bought the 2008 V6 AT sedan in the diamond white pearl for the wife and we absolutey love it.I just totaled my 2006 I4 EX sedan a month ago in a no fault accident. I still drive my good ole trusted 1997 Accord SE sedan which has 155 k on it and it still runs like a dream. My other joy is my Yamaha FZ6 which I love as much as I love my Honda's.

Just got back from a trip to Oklahoma City. The car did great. I clocked the highway driving only mpg, driving at 70 to 75 mph with cruise on and a/c on at all times and came with a 27.3 mpg. Honda rates this car at 29 mpg highway so I guess this wasn't so bad.The VCM performed flawlessley. A couple of things I noted on the drive was

1) The road noise which is a problem with all the accords that I have ever owned or driven, Honda needs to find a fix for that its quite fustrating to get this from such a fine car.I drove a Camry last week for a 700 mile trip and it was so so quiet... Honda are you listening

2) Overley sensitive cruise : while driving with the cruise on on the slightest incline in the road it cut off the vcm and went back to the 6cyl mode. I tried it without the cruise and gassed the pedal easy on the inclines and the vcm stayed on longer. No biggie but I guess I liked to see the vcm kick in and the eco light go on making me feel I AM SAVING GAS

other than the above it was a complete darling on the road.

The A/C has been on almost constantly the last couple of months. Its either been too rainy or just too hot to drive downtown with the windows down.

80mph yields 29/30mpg for me. 60/65 about 33mpg.

Don't thin kwe have E10 gas in Raleigh. I have about 11,000 miles on the odo now. The mileage has slowly risen since new.
