10 or 12 point Buck leaps over my 08 coupe!! literally

so i live in Ohio & Im pulling out of work today & on a 25mph back road & out of the corner of my eye i see something huge, slam on my brakes & a 10 or 12 point HUGE buck literally leaped right over the hood of my 08 coupe- he was running full speed. I dont know how he didnt hit it & surely wouldnt have cleared the top of my car had i not slammed my brakes & if i was in my jeep he would've hit it as well. I could've reached my hand out my window & touched it as it was going over my car!! really shocked me as it was happening & i had my window down... he smelled awful! probably was spraying since it's mating season.

You were very fortunate. I saw a 1993 Accord that was hit by a deer and the entire front end was totaled. Knowing my humor I would have said to myself seconds after the incident " I'm awake now." LOL.

I live in East Texas so I know all about deer. I was driving from Madisonville to Tyler around 8pm and saw a huge group of about 12 that had just crossed the road in front of me. I slowed down just in case they doubled back and as I did 3 more shot across the road to join the rest of the group. I had to slam on the break to keep from hitting the last.

It was pretty scary cuz I know it could have been really bad for me and my gf... Later though we couldn't stop laughing bc the deer was trying to run so fast that he couldn't get a grip on the asphalt so he was just running in place like a cartoon.

Glad to hear you (and your car) were unharmed.

FYI....in case you don't know ..if you see one deer crossing the road there are probably others following..esp. babies..proceed with caution.

Local TV station reported there were 7 car - deer collisions just today in this local area (southeastern Nebr). Probably more that were not reported if there was minimal car damage. Mating season plus the farmers are harvesting crops which makes them move arround even more and makes me avoid driving especially during morning and evening hours.
