Uh, I'm calling bs. I think you wrecked it. How can you talk about your wife that way? Seems to me that you're just venting and finding someone else to blame it on. Sorry for your loss though. Would rather pay 10 k to fix a car than 100k for hospital bills.

Don't think it's appropriate to drag OP's spouse into this discussion in the context of your post.

But I was........If I were her and lived with that kind of verbal abuse, its easy to see how that statement could be applied to her, ya think? Not to mention he seemed to actually be disappointed she "never got hurt"
I see what you mean now however there's no proof that he sat there and just hours upon hours called her names and belittled her to the point where she would consider suicide. They have kids and even grandkids...if they've been together for that long, and she suffered through that kind of abuse, you think should've done it already no? I don't think Psy wants his wife to get hurt...his statement (from my pov) seems to imply that if she did get injured (knock on wood) it would only be so that she can second-guess herself as to whether or not she should be behind the wheel of a car.

If you're so affected by this, go make something of it then. Go start an internet forum discussing verbal/mental/physical abuse of individuals and start a charity to stop it. The honest truth is, you don't know the history behind Psy's life and his wife...NONE of us here can pass judgement on him or his wife until we've lived a day in their life.

HAHAHAHA,,,, I don't wreck cars to date,,, thank you. It's called driving. Wrecking is accomplished when you don't know how to drive.

And if you had looked at pictures posted when the car was purchased you would know what she looks like. http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=30860

You will find her with her then new and good HCHII.

What a tadpole.

Went by the body shop today. Paints on it. Fenders look like crap. They are not aligning up at the A pillar or the lower rocker panel. So If they put paint on it as if that was good enough. I'm sure the engine and transmission were yanked out and put back in correct,,,, NOT! I have concerns about the A/C system and the electric power steering unit. Big sign on it stating " check transmission fluid ". They had the cooling lines off. So I hope they put the right fluid back in.

I'm waiting to see how she handles the curbed wheel and screwed up back bumper along with it needing the oil changed and tires rotated. I will never drive it again much less service it. I gave her a hint today. " When you inspect it, pay and pick it up,,, you might, maybe, should get it to a local Honda dealer and have it's maint. done. Have the firmware upgraded, and have the TSB done on the spoiler,,, OOOO and have the drivers door window regulator checked. And maybe have the transmission fluid checked if not changed out. A full flush if the body shop can not produce a bottle of Honda CVT tranny fluid. And then figure out a way to have the body shop pay for the flush if they did screw it up.

See how it goes. She should have it the middle of the week.

The car was sent to a Honda dealer today to have a check out done on it and the hybrid system hooked back up. I expect it to be ready for pick up by friday.

Other than the CVT tranny the car WAS a work of J-Vin art! Now it has been forced into American hands for repair as if it was a worthless Chevy. The wife in her wonderful ways has blocked out the whole mess. She has only called the body shop once to check on her so called beloved car. I on the other hand have stopped by daily.

Thank god the car isn't a child!

Every car I have ever owned has been made in America (with the exception of my old Intrepid-Canada), and not all of them were from the Big 3. I drove a Dodge Stratus 2.4 sedan up to 170k without the biggest repair being a wheel barring. My girlfriend just got rid of her '99 Tahoe at 160k, purchased with 90k and we have done nothing but tires/brakes/oil and a tail light bulb. What I'm trying to say is, build quailty may be higher on "foreign" cars, but that in no way will ever stop me from buying a car form the "Big 3" I'm glad my Accord was made in Ohio!

Picked the car up lastnight.

I drove it in today. it's a pile of junk! The wife yet again ruins another car. And the horrid American labor can't seem to build or fix any thing right the first time.

Bumper cover does not fit right, hood to fender seams could have been done better by a blind tech. The transmission is not right. It now jerks when cold when you put it in drive. As even engauged and disengauged on me when in D. More road noise than it had before. Steering is biased to the left. Turns easy to the left harder to the right. Dash by the wing window is scratched up. They had to use the transmission interlock release at some point and buggered the plug and around the hole. The heater down duct that puts air to the back seats is loose or knocked off. The cup holders and front tray get hot when the heater is on. when I got into the office this AM I noticed the drivers front wheel wheel well had popped out to the outside edge of the bumper cover. I popped it back in. Just got back from taking it for a drive on the freeway and it popped out again. Can't even set a damn plastic fender well right!

It had 3 recal's in 55 miles this am. So MPG ****ed coming in. I expect more problems in the hybrid area. I haven't worked the A/C . Auto stop in very rough now. Both shutting down and restarting. Before the wreck auto stop was silky smooth. Only a slight hint of labor and the engine shut off. Restart was not even felt. Tach just jumped up and off you went. I did get on it hard this am on a on ramp. There is alot more engine noise / roar. It's just flat out louder. Use to be near silent. The tach still jumps up and hangs close to redline not going anywere even slow because of the crap Cvt . But now the engine sounds like a Iron Duke Chevy of years past.

So the short of the long is,,,, the car is ruined. Complete trash! Wiping ones rear end with 20 dollars bills would have been a better use of money than what the wife cost us with this last bit of driving prowless of hers.

More shop time is needed. Seeing we can't seem to do much right in America anymore the first time.

Great story so far. Im rooting for the Antihero, Payshack, but I really do hope you can find a solution in the future that can suit both of you. Its lines like "Now it has been forced into American hands for repair as if it was a worthless Chevy" that are the real gems.

Wife drove the car to church yesterday. Was raining when services let out. I get this frantic phone call. " The wipers are crashing into each other when you turn them on! " I jump in my car and get to her. Sure enough you turn the wipers on and they run into each other. And they are some long ass wipers. I look it over and see that the body shop had put the wipers on the wrong side's. I reverse the complete wiper arm assembles and that's all fine. I took it back to the body shop today with a punch list of issue's. See how the fools deal with that laundry list of mistakes.
