Richard,

I hear what you are saying, however I do wonder just how much contraction and expansion is there with only several thousand feet of altitude change in the area you are? I am very rusty with my chemistry and won't even attempt to do the molar mass calcultion combined with temperature coefficent etc., but I would speculate the change would be very small?

As for the M5 example, air is nearly 80% nitrogen to start off with, certainly the 20% or so oxygen doesn't help to prevent the fuel vapour from igniting, however the surrounding air around the car will make the amount of oxygen from the air in the tire inconsequential and a non-factor?

I don't go to Big O Tire stores!

I took my wife's 4Runner there and they wanted $70.00 to change the cabin air filter. The thing is I changed it about a week before and the filter was $20.00 and took about 7 minutes to change.

I called Big O corporate (I believe in Colorado) and explained to them the situation.

Their standard reply is "Each store is franchised and not owned by us". They said we will send you a coupon for a free oil change. I said why would I go back to a store owned by a bunch of crooks! Don't bother with the coupon.

I guess there are good and bad owners......

Except for the nitrogen, my Honda dealer offers a very similar deal. I love it. I trust my dealer a lot more than any of those quick oil change places to get my oil change right, and this deal gets the price down to about what those places charge. Plus I've got a great dealer that doesn't require me to jump through all sorts of hoops to get in, most days I don't even need an appointment.
