Swapping out headlights 7th gen 4cyl Coupe EX 2006

Hey all, first post here. I've been searching this board for quite some time and can't find any help, so I figured I'd post a thread and hope to not be struck down by the administrators. My apologies if this is the wrong place... I'm kind of tired and have a cold at the moment so my head's not working.

Please keep in mind that I am 97% automotive-ly inexperienced, so I really have no idea what I'm doing without help.

For reference to everyone, this is the part in the manual that I was using.

Ok, so here's the deal. I bought two sets of HID bulbs (one low, one high) and want to swap the factory ones for them. I found the instructions in the manual on where to replace the bulbs... but I'm lost. I wanted to start with the drivers side high beams. I got to "remove air intake cover", and did so... and then my mind went numb at step 2. The pictures weren't of any help; I couldn't figure out which connector...thing I was looking for. So I went to the passenger side... and couldn't figure out which thing it was on that side either.

Can anyone help me? If you have (a) picture(s), or can take (a) picture(s), I would be forever grateful.

i would highly recommend not putting hids into your highbeams. Hids take a couple seconds to warm up before they take on their full light output.

this DIY is for the 8th gen but the concept should be the same, goodluck

Yeah, I knew that... although, I'm not sure how that's a bad thing? Unsure if this is unique to my model or what, but my lows stay on when I have my highs on.

I was going to suggest going through the fenderwell, or even taking off the bumper since it makes is 100x easier. How did you end up doing it?

I actually didn't do a thing. lol I was over my buddy's place, putting in (or at least trying to) an amp + sub (which isn't possible with Honda's Navi system by itself... missing some kind of remote wire or something... that's why he's doing it, not me), and he just popped out the old ones, put the new ones in. Essentially, followed the instructions without reading it. Just the bulbs, no ballasts or whatever. I must've gotten some weird bulbs though because they don't need to power up; they come on instantly.

i also installed HIDs in to my High beam and yes it does depend on the brand some of the cheaper ones have a lag but it is very minute. i have noticed that it will take a few seconds to get to full color/brightness but they are very effective for all applications.
