The 2001-2002 Coupe comes OEM-fitted with a rear, lower "air spoiler" which attaches to the the underside of the bumper cover. It's primary function is aesthetic, to accentuate separation of the exhaust (muffler tips). It especially distinguishes the V6 car. That is sufficient "decorum" for me. Further "embellishment" would serve me NO useful purpose.

As seen in the pics, the defuser covers the bumpy bottom area near the gas tank all the way to the lower bumper. Looks cool and dose something - that is really cool...

So I emailed one of the companies that makes them for S2000 and other import track cars and he replied in part with
"By simply changing the brackets and modifying the mounting arms, you can make any diffuser fit any car because diffusers mount to the actual chassis, not the body. In the end, it all depends on the skill of the person doing the install."

I think all in all for me to do it, it would ultimately depend on the price. I know a couple of guys that have evos have them and it added rear wheel horsepower but, since we drive front wheel drive Im not too sure there is actually a realistic need for it. I was just tossing it around the see what was out there. Thanks for all the input though it makes for good reading while Im stuck at work. LOL

They are just selling you a one size fits all contraption that will most likely fit very poorly. It's obviously just for looks, it is on the wrong end to really do any good since most cars are driven in the forward direction. There will be open holes in the front of it that will just trap air inside of it, causing more drag not less.v In order to be effective, it would have to cover the entire underside.
