When is requesting the code the words "CODE" appears on the screen. Maybe there is a problem with your unit.

It might be helpful to post what kind of radio this pertains to.
Navi? Non-Navi?
Year of car, model?

This help?

Frankly, even though this forum has a lot of very nice people, the few bad apples around here have gotten on my nerves. I simply don't care enough to log on and try and help others when all too frequently, I get mocked or made fun of.

You actually have to hit the power button first for the radio to prompt you (non-navi)

He posted the same question in the Radio Code sticky thread. He has an LX which does not require a code. Err means his head unit is broken, most likely the CD player defective. Press AM/FM to switch to the radio tuner.

All thanks for all the info but I did figured out what happen. My radio is working perfectly fine now. But let me explain so that others like me can easily do the same. The problem is that I didn't disconnect the battery long enough at least 30 sec plus. Re-connect the battery and power on the radio. The radio did display CODE. Here's what a lot of people are confuse about. The radio has a serial number and a anti-thef code. The anti-thef code is the one you really need. But if you don't have that code then you need the radio serial number which you can get by pressing the 1 and 6 and the power button at the same time. This will display ex. U2345 and L1234. (23451234) is your radio serial number. with this you can get the code from the dealership. The anti-thef code is a 5 digit number. I didn't know this at first and when the radio display CODE I enter the serial number instead. This will result in ERR1. You have ten trys to get it right. Last try will display ERR9 and then ERRE. if this happen then you will have to disconnect the battery again and start over. When the radio is power on you should see CODE display. Enter the 5 digit anti-thef radio code and you should be good to go. I hope that this help. Good Luck.
