6th gen throttle body problem?

i brought the car to a mechanic at my tech shcool and he said the airator in the throttle body is messed up (about $500) total parts and labor is it a hard job to take one off of a car in a junk yard and do it myself? also has anyone elce had this problem, it makes the cars idol bounce between 1400 and 900rpm's when idoling and somtimes it stalls.
