V6 6speed transmission knocking???

My 6speed transmission have had this knocking noise for over 15k miles now. My tranny still shift extremely smooth though. I was wondering if anyone else have or had the same ticking / knocking noise on their v6 6 speed transmission.

I'm thinking its the input shaft bearing because I did some research and people with a half busted bearing experienced the same noise. The noise only occurs when the clutch is engage and pedal disengaged. When I engage the pedal the noise is gone, so I know it cannot be the throw out bearing.

I might possibly replace it just because I'm afraid it may cause a bigger problem later. Or will it? I understand I might be spending over $500 to basically have the transmission rebuilt due to one small damn bearing..

Oh it's a 2004 v6 6 speed with 150k on transmission and about 30-40k on clutch.

Did you replace the clutch or a shop? Might not be properly lubricated, or the clutch itself if you got some janky Auto Zone part or something. More details please.

I don't know. I bought the car 20k miles ago. The previous owner told me the noise happens intermittently. I was fine with it since the car was only 5grands. I have now put on 20k miles and it started making the noise more and more often 15k miles ago. The clutch grips and the car shifts perfecty. I'm just wondering if anyone had the same problem before and what the fix was.

Off topic but only $5k? Good deal sir! Let's hope the timing belt was done. IF clutch is engaged then it means car has to be moving. Is it possible the dual mass flywheel is busted? When my clutch goes the single piece Clutchmasters flywheel is going in with classic inner spring clutch plate.. no ifs ands or buts.
