Should I add an intake or change the exhaust?

To my 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Sedan? I want my car to have a nice sound to it (no fart cans). Any suggestions?

The Takeda SRI is very popular, and I love mine. Quiet, but loud when I get my foot closer to the floor.

I have a Sedan I4 for my opinions is a way better upgrade than the exhaust, it makes your car sound awesome when you want, but is quite when you want. The installation for the sedan is fairly easy. Let me know if you want pictures. I have the K&N but currently is out of stock so make sure that they have it before ordering

The intake will give you both quiet (when normal driving) and a deep sound when driving aggressively. If you want a constant "deep" sound (no cans and s!@#$ like that, get a nice exhaust, nothing to crazy but something that improve the sound.

If you're looking for a mod to provide some audible feedback from driving spritied, an intake will provide that.

IMO the best intakes for the Accord are AEM for CAI and Takeda for SRI. My rationale for this opinion is formed because they both use paper filters which provide the best air filtration. I would not get a k & n or any intake with a filter that requires to oil it, as an oil filter and will let in a noticeable amount more of contaminants than a paper filter will. Not to mention the oil you have to spray on the filter over time will seep through the filter and require more frequent cleaning of the maf sensor than a paper filter would.

Here's a good technical read on the difference in filtrations amongst air filters if you wanted to read more...

If you change your mind on a CAI I have an AEM CAI for sale it is the only intake that is carb legal available for the Accord if you're in CA. Good luck regardless.

Would the takeda void the warranty for those of us that have purchased the extended warranty.

Only way an add-on should void a warranty is if the cause of a problem was determined to be the item.
