Smile 8th Generation (2009) Accord Front And Rear Speaker Suggestion

I want to upgrade my Front and Rear door speakers leaving the factor tweeters to save me the hassle and wanted to ask for suggestions. I looked at a few and was not sure if they would be an idle choice. Trying to stay with about 100-150 bucks for both.

Current Setup:
Factory Radio
Factory Speakers (Front and Rear) - Seems like they are blown
2 x KAC-8104D Kenwood Class D Mono Amp
2 x 12" MTX Thunderbird 6000 Subs - Seems like also blown

I bought two Kenwood KFC-W3013PS 12" subs so that should take care of the blown subs and the bass, but am not sure if the speaker choices below are the best for what I have so far:

Polk Audio DXi 650s - Front and Rear
Kicker DS60 - Front and Rear
Sony Xplōd™ XS-GT1627A

Kenwood?. And why did you buy two amps one or each sub??? Why didn't you buy one amp for both subs? Hifonics and PPI make GREAT budget amps that can handle loads of power. you could of bought the hifonics bruturs brz1200.1 for around 150 which handles 1200 watts rms, or the brz1700.1 which handles 1200rms at 2 ohms... u messed up big time man

Dude your buying all crappy equipment. its like u bought all walmart equipment for 20 dollars each lol
Never consider Sony ever. If You want good speakers ur gonna have to spend more than 50 bucks. Image dynamic ctx65cs are very good budget speakers($160) and digital designs 6.5cs are good too. If u want probably one of the best budget speakers before you go into high end prices, the Hybrid Audio Imagine i62-2 speakers are the ones to buy. I actually just bought them and will install em on wednesday. Cadence, digital designs, image dynamics, hybrid audio, are all great brands. Don't even consider Sony, Polks are okay but not the ones your getting. Kickers not that great either. And it looks ur not getting components ur just putting coaxial in the front of rear. Component sets go for the front and tey include tweeters too and cross overs.

I suggest you visit www.caraudio.com and start readin around

EDIT:

Okay i typed that from my iphone and didnt see the part where you said around 150 for both speakers (front and back)

If your gonna do that your not gonna get a good audio system i would rather of left it stock

i suggest just getting a set of components and leaving the rear speakers stock for the "fill" sound.

after looking at your equipment everything you bought is crappy low end stuff.

with your budget. i would get just a front set such as

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...nce_ZRS6K.aspx (cadence speakers)
or image dynamic ctx65cs for 160

as far as subs go. idk what to tell you. your not working anything good with the budget you have. you need a whole new audio system lol

alpine makes great subs, image dynamic, JL audio, rockford fosgate, RE, infinity kappa perfect is good, sundown audio, jbl.

you can find all good subwoofers from those brands and theres much more brands that you can find good ones from.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your honest comments/suggestions. So here is what happened.

I have a 2009 Accord EX-L with 7 speaker premium audio, and it sounded pretty good and I was not planning to upgrade or change.

I have had those amps for some time now and while cleaning the garage I figured why not just use it instead of letting it collect dust.
I had them hooked up with MTX Thunder 6000 subs; when I installed everything I discovered that they were blown, so I went and bought the Kenwood KFC-W3013PS 12" subs. I should get them Monday.
Figured that one sub for each sub should kick pretty well as they are class D Mono Amps and can push 1x500 RMS.

Since I bought the subs now I got tempted and said since I have already updated the subs I wanted to also update the door speakers as they sound a bit rattling when vol is at 35ish and hence this thread.

I figured if I upgrade the front and rear speakers and the factory sub, it should certainly sound better then before but did not want to spent too much on it since it was all unplanned. so figured about 100-150 bucks for speakers should get me anything better than the factory speakers; overall don't want to spend more than 200 for the door speakers.

just buy front component speakers than and get any cheap coaxials for the rear

you can buy these for the rear

Amazon Amazon

(50 Dollars)

and get image dynamic ctx65cs (159) that puts you at $210 and you will have really great sounding speakers!

or you can get the infinity for the rear and polk db6501 components (115 shipped) for the front stage

Amazon Amazon

you have a lot of options to get good sound you just have to do research

I would suggest going for the Image Dynamics, I'm quite disappointed with my polk db6501's. They sound too cold and harsh at times, to the point where I have to set the treble to -1 or -2.

I'm also going to buy the Image Dynamics soon hopefully they won't let me down.

Thanks again for a quick and informative response with options.
I looked at the suggestions you provided. After staring at different options and speaker sets, you are right, there are lot of options that I have and I do need a lot of research before I decide on what I want.

Wanted to give you an insight on what kind of sound I like along with what kind of music I listen too; to narrow down my search; basically I have been looking at so many options so far that I am now actually confused as to what I want and am looking for a second opinion.

I mostly listen to Techno, Trance, Drum n Bass, House, Chill, Ambient and occasionally listen to Rock, Metal and sometime Indian music, which tosses it a bit of a curve.

I like more Bass then treble but after looking around her is what I am thinking:
If I buy 2 pairs of the following do you think it might work?

Note: I am planning on leaving the factory tweeters

What do you guys think of these for all 4 of my speakers (Front and Rear):

Kicker DS65 6.5" Coax Speakers

Infinity Kappa 62.9i 6.5" 225 Watt 2-Way Speakers Infinity Kappa 62.9i 6.5" 225 Watt 2-Way Speakers

Rockford Fosgate Prime R1653 6.5-Inch Full Range 3 Way Speakers Rockford Fosgate Prime R1653 6.5-Inch Full Range 3 Way Speakers

Boss Audio Systems CH6530 Chaos Series 6.5-Inch 3-Way Speaker Boss Audio Systems CH6530 Chaos Series 6.5-Inch 3-Way Speaker

MTX Terminator Series TN653 6.5" 3-Way MTX Terminator Series TN653 6.5" 3-Way

stay away from pyle. one of the worst brands ever.

i honestly wouldnt get either of those sets you linked too.

i would really get a good quality coaxial for the rear around 50 bucks or so and get the image dynamic ctx65cs for the front.

After your suggestion I spent a lot of time researching and ended up with the following choice:
Front - Image Dynamic CTX65cs
Rear - Infinity Reference 6032cf 6.5-Inch

I just got my Kenwood subs, and I installed them and they made a huge difference in the sound quality; they have a lot more capacity to handle the amp I suppose.

While spending quite some time to setup the amp it turns out that I am really happy with the sound with the factory speakers so far; in an event if i end up blowing them up - which is most likely to happen soon since I installed the amp I will go with the above choice.

Thanks everyone for all your help comments and suggestions.

There must be a significant amount of difference that it might make to the quality of sound with the ctx set since you guys are suggesting it so much.
I am convinced to order it now; will order it sometime today and see how it sounds when I get them installed. Thanks.

I did have another question though, did not feel like starting a new thread so I figured I ask here.
Checked the rattle section under Audio for newbies stickey and checked that the fix is already there for the rare shelf of the forum plus I don't have that much problem with it as this one.
I noticed a rattling sound from the bottom right of my trunk where the break lights are and was wondering if anyone else had this problem?
