95 Accord EX V6 Speedometer failure... HELP!

Hi,

Ok so my speedometer stopped working. Just rests at the bottom and the ODO doesnt work either. Im at a loss as to what it could be ... If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!!

VSS - vehicle speed sensor. cheap to buy on ebay, and can be replaced by yourself. have done this on a couple 5th gens, though they were both 4 cyl.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if it was the VSS wouldn't the check engine light be on? Or could it be stored in the ECUs memory without having the check engine light on?

Not trying to be a jerk. This is an actual legitimate question.

if the VSS is bad the cel should come on. is this an obd2 ecu?

not necessarily. my CEL was not on when my VSS was faulty, for w/e reason.

If that doesn't work, GPS units have gotten decent when it comes to MPH. Mine is a simple Garmin 1690 and it is surprisingly accurate.

Not a solution but might get you by.

another possibility if its no the vss is the gauge cluster might be going bad
