Unhappy Clutch Squeek

Earlier this week I noticed my clutch started to squeak. Every time I push down on the clutch pedal I hear a squeek which sounds like its coming from outside of the car/transmission. My car only has 55000km on it but I'm out of warranty because I've passed 3 years.

Does this sound like something that would be covered by my powertrain warranty? Honda wants 150 bucks just to inspect it. If they think it's a warranty related issue they will fix it and not charge me the 150.

You think it would be covered under powertrain?

Usually powertrain warranty is limited to inside engine block or inside transmission except clutch, pressure plate, throughout bearing. AT probably all covered. Usually use the phrase"internally lubricanted".Might include CV joints but not sure. Extended Hondacare would cover it if it was slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. I would lub every point I could get to.

Once every blue moon you have to lube the clutch pedal assembly. It's normal for all Hondas due to the design.

Did they lube the clutch linkage itself, or somewhere near the pedal assembly?

Hopefully that doesn't ever happen, it's a regular maintenance. I say every 50,000 maybe or when it squeaks, that's usually the fix. I recommend to use grease.
