How to clean inside of rims?

I have an 06 sedan, and the inside of the all four rims is dirty, whatever residue it is does not rub off....can anyone suggest a way to clean them?

I made the mistake of running them from march when i got the car until now, so they did see some winter use. I hope they are not ruined! I plan on getting some cheap rims to use with 4 snowtires come winter.

Thanks in advance!

you can try some wheel cleaner form your local auto parts store. other than that i would say dont really worry about the INSIDE of the rim....no one is going to nitice that except you. i only clean the outside face.

Or Castrol Super clean - - JUST DONT leave it on there. It is very strong. Rinse with water after.

I use Meg's Hot Rims...seems to work well. All you do is rinse wheels well, then spray it on, let it sit 15 seconds (no longer), then rinse off extremely well. Do 1 wheel at a time.

I still have a lot of crap on the insides of my rims as well...but like others have said its not really visible to anyone looking at the car. When I pull my wheels off to rotate them in a month or 2 I'll completely spray down and clean the wheels and probably wax them as well.

The only sure fire way is to remove the wheel and clean it from the backside.
