changing tail light color?

Is it possible to change the color of ur lights?
like can u take appart the tail light and sand it to b clear and paint it?

if anyone knows if it can b done and how to do it plz let me know

You are probably better off buying some aftermarket versions. You can find them with LED and in many combinations of dark, red, clear.

It's a red lens all the way through so you can't sand to get to clear. What color do you want it to be? Red, amber, and clear are the only legal colors you can have.

As 03LXV6 stated, red, amber, and clear are the only legal colors you can have. I did play with the idea of using a yellow LED to create amber light.

you can have black, depending on your local regulations as long as the red light tail and brake lights can be seen from a certain distance.. New York i believe is 500ft in normal daylight. check your local regualtions. you can have a green lens if you want as long as your actual light comes out the correct color and brightness.

they can say all they want. however all that matters is going to be if you are breaking the law or not to determine who is paying for what. if your law is red light visible from 500ft in normal daylight just do not break the law.
