Ebay foglight cause a whole lot of electrical mess
I just installed a after market foglight from Ebay (K2) and followed the instruction on the video the have. Once everything is done, the foglight is operational. But now I have a slew of other electrical issues.
The A/C compressor does not turn on kick in. The high beam, door lock beep, driving light, windshield washer, INT wiper all not working. The instruction call to splice the foglight power wire (white) to all time power on the honda. Splice red wire from foglight to ACC on honda under the dash. I check all the fuses and none are blown. Did I messed up big time? Is it hard to diagnose what went wrong and fix? At one point the check engine light did came on. I am at a total loss here.

You should order the factory fog light harness & switch. Use the lights, but use factory harness.

Put everything back the way it was and pray you didn't damage anything.

tear out the aftermarket wiring and put in factory ones, this is how I "fixed" mine. You can find entire sets of Honda OEM fog lights on ebay.

The harness & switch are the weak link with the eBay fog lights. OEM harness & switch is inexpensive.

i got the ebay kit and made my own harness with relay... it has its own power, fuse, ground and switch, the only thing i tapped into was and ignition source so it turns off with the car.. other than that i can turn them on and use them as DRL...

I did take everything apart and reverse to the way everything was but it did not help. I will recheck the fuses again. Talking to a friend of mine, he seems to think the power to each of those items that are not working are not getting enough power. There could be a short somewhere in the connection. Ugh!

What parts are required if only the ebay lights are used and the rest is OEM?

The first thing I did when I bought my first set of ebay fog lights was throwing the wiring harness into the garbage. I then purchased the OEM wiring harness which doesn't require splicing of anything. A year later, the chrome inside the cheap housings started getting dull. I ended up buying OEM housings after that, which made a huge difference.
My original install had a short, and it was caused by the cheap made in china bulbs. |

You would also need 6 on the list. I just installed my ebay fogs on Friday. I used the ebay wiring and everything worked out fine, however, I did have to cut and extend the harness that connects from the dash to the battery. The remote power source I tapped it into a black/yellow wire, near the main ignition wire (solid red).

Demand is not THAT high. Accords are not known to be modded frequently. When I think of accord, I think its a family car, its reliable, and relatively more mature compared to a civic. Civic on the other hand, plenty of young people drive it, and there is a market for aftermarket parts as oppose to us accord folks. Just my 2 cents.

And this is the reason I went and paid the money for the OEM Honda kit. Too many stories of people screwing up their electrical systems. IMO you get what you pay for, hopefully you didn't do any damage. I've been happy with my OEM ones and you can get them onsale if you look. Still, $300 now, or much more later to repair possible electrical damage.
