This would be a good excuse for one. But I am at college and do not have a garage for the gear. Like the compressor and everything I would need along with it. Or else I would.

End result was drilling them out. Probably not the best move, but two cobalt bits later, got them out. Didn't bother replacing them though. Figure it won't be that big of an issue since those were the original factory ones.

And yes, two drill bits. Best part, burnt one out to where it was dull, in 45 minutes. Took it back to Menards and they let me switch it out for another. Even better, neighbor works there and is going to return the "good" one.

As for the brakes. The duralast rotors are on, and Gold CMAX pads are in. Feels just ok for now. Still need to bleed. But there isn't the pulsating coming from a high speed to a light. So happy for now.

You don't need any gear or a compressor for the electric or cordless models like http://www.ingersollrandproducts.com...px-am_en-30712

I just did the Centric Premium rotors and Centric Posi-Quiet ceramic pads. Brakes feel good - plenty there, but not grabby. No dust after the first 1000 miles. I like the painted centers and edges on the rotors too.

Question: How are the EBC redstuff or Greenstuff pads with regard to stopping performance when the pads are cold? How do the pads handle several hard stops in a row?

I've got Hawk HPS all around right now, and stopping power (when the brakes are hot) is great - However, in the mornings you might as well have ice cubes as pads, because the cold stopping performance of the Hawks is poor. I love my current brake setup as a whole, since even repeated hard stops are smooth, powerful, and with minimal fade...but the cold stopping issue can be scary sometimes.

I just did my brakes last week and damn they feel good. Went with:

Rotors: Autozone on all 4 corners - 2 year warranty = awesome
Pads: OEM Honda Pads on all 4 corners.
Impressions: Super quiet all the time which is awesome. I also love the pedal feel as if feels just like stock. Great bang for your buck especially if you buy the pads from one of the vendors. I think I spent $200. I've used the Autozone pads in the past and while they are priced very reasonably, I still prefer the OEM pads. Also, if anyone is planning on changing their rotors, I highly suggest you buy the impact driver from Sears for $25. I put some PB blaster on the screws and let it soak for a few mins, then took 1 wack each time with the impact driver and they were off.

When my factory rotors warped, I went with Powerslot rotors and Hawk Ferro-carbon pads. The pads dusted like crazy and ate my rotors, so I went back to middle price range organic pads and they stop just fine. When you use ceramic or any other "hard" pad the rotors are not going to live as long. To me, pads are so cheap and easy to replace that I think quality rotors and softer pads are the best setup for daily driving. I always break them in properly which helps as well.

Hi, I am new here to DriveAccord Forum. I have EBC solid rotors with EBC greenstuff brake pads on my 2003 Honda Accord LX 4cyl (rear drums). The braking with the greenstuff is better than what I had before. I have used Hawk HPS and Monroe and I thought the initial bite on both was lacking. The bite on the EBC pads grabs right away. I have had to stop hard on the highway and they stop very well. They do engage ABS for each hard stop. During the summer I haven't noticed much fade while on the highway while driving aggressively. EBC recommends greenstuff for sport sedans with 200hp or less, so this seems to fit perfectly for me. Hope this helps.

Regards,

Greg

Rotors: Centric Premium
Pads: Akebono Performance
On car for 3k miles

After break-in I am very pleased with the performance. Initial bite is not a strong as OEM, which in my opinion is a good thing since OEM was too touchy. Braking power is very steady, perhaps even getting slightly stronger as you keep steady pressure on the pedal.

When the Brembo blanks go on my wife's car I am switching over to this setup as well.

I have a 2003 sedan V6 AT. I want to install Spoon TSX calipers. My questions are:

1. Will the TSX Spoon calipers direct bolt on?
2. If not, do I need to buy TSX brackets?
3. After install calipers, can I still use the stock brake pads and rotors? (My rotors and pads are still new)
4. Will the calipers fit 16" wheel?

Thanks

1. If they are a direct bolt on to TSX, then yes direct bolt on to Accord.
2. Should mount to hub.
3. No & No. You will need larger TSX Rotor.
4. Yes, should fit 16", some people run 16" for winter tires.

Hi, I will need to change my brake pads pretty soon, and I am looking at Akebono brake pads for my '05 Accord EX (4-cyl engine). What is the difference with the different model numbers (ie. ACT914 vs ACT787 for the front set)? This isn't overkill for my car (considering it's just my daily driver)?
