Undo what you did and pray it works. Are you sure you thoroughly checked your fuses?

Ok well $500 later it was the Body Control Module.

I find it hard to believe that pushing a few wires around caused it to short. My suspiscion is that when I turned on the Isimple for the first time it haywired my system. After it was installed everything was working fine (I didn't bother to start the car so everything except that). I put everything back together and was going to drive around only to realize the starter was getting no power. Each time I started the car after that, through my trials and tests afterwards suggested here and other places, less and less of the electronics in the car worked. A slow bleed death...

I have it installed now after getting the BCM replaced and it works fine. However my review of this product on all forums will be scathing.

Thank you for all your suggestions. While I'm not a professional install car tech, this really wasn't rocket science and it is frustrating beyond belief that something seemingly so simple end up costing me over $500 and a lot of raging frustration.

Yep, so you should have disconnected the battery before the install. You just don't know what wires are hot unless you have a the pin outs and electrical diagram. You should never assume.

Why would your review be scathing? You say it works fine. I've had mine for 3 or 4 years and it's worked flawlessly. Your review shouldn't be scathing because you screwed up the install by not disconnecting the battery. Don't the instructions say to disconnect the battery the within the first few steps?

They do.

It is very simple to install and would not have cost you $500 if you would have followed the directions. Don't slam the product because you failed to follow the documented instructions. Instead, how about warning other potential buyers to make sure they follow directions and disconnect the battery to avoid damaging other components. You can save a few others some $$$ and frustration instead of steering them away from a great product.
