Question Quality of Rims

I know that with rims, you generally get what you pay for...
But what about the quality of say Drag rims that Discount Tire sells, and Kazera and Moda from Tire Rack? I want some black rims for my accord, but I dont want to be wasting my tire buying bad rims.. Any input on this??

I don't think they're bad, but they're just cast wheels. Not great, but not bad. Shouldn't have problems with normal driving at all.

Kazera rims are made in the same factory as BBS. They are spun instead of gravity casted so its a stronger but not as strong as forged

drag are just casted rims.

Find Enkei Racing or Enkei Tuning instead.

Actually, Kazera wheels are made by ASA (Artisan Spirited Alloy) in South Korea. That said, ASA did get help from BBS to build their wheel manufacturing facility and also teach them about manufacturing processes and quality controls so I guess you can say they're almost made by BBS. But yeah, they make quality wheels for the price.

I believe Kazera should be low pressure cast, not spun (flow form) cast.

Quality from cheapest to highest:

Gravity Cast
Low Pressure Cast
Flow Form Cast (Spun Cast)
Forged

^ good info. I was looking that up a while back when I was looking for rims.

Shoot I ended up getting mb weapons, which are made by a-tech of Japan. Bust casted instead of forged. Still can't beat a good deal.

Just do some research before you buy, and also realize that design also play a role in how much beating a wheel can take.

All but a very few old designs for Drag are built using low pressure cast manufacturing.

The factories that build them also build wheels for many major brands including, Suzuki, BMW, Chevy, GM, VW, Mercedes, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, and Fiat.

They are priced affordable to keep them competitive in the US market. Also, Drag does very little advertising to help keep the costs down.

Drag wheels are one of our top selling brands. Like most cast aluminum wheels Drag wheels have a 1 year finish and lifetime structural warranty for manufacturer workmanship and defects.

Haha. Thanks for all the info guys, I got stuck with other things and couldn't get on for a while. Im considering just getting my rims, the seven pointers, painted gloss black, since I have brand new BFGs on them.
