That doesn't look that bad. Just take off the bumper and push it out. If you search on you tube, 2008 Honda accord bumper cover removal, there is a DIY video, looks very easy. Get a damage estimate and do it yourself and pocket the cash. As far as the paint damage? Can't really tell from the photo?

You should have gotten a police report. She can always say it didn't happen. When people find out the cost of the damage their tunes change on footing the bill.

Isn't one of the first things taught in Drivers Ed (if they even still teach that) is if you get into an accident to call the a Police?

It amazes me how trusting people are.

I 4th that. Police report is a must especially if you are not at fault. My suggestion it to move quick and get an estimate and see if she pays for it at all. Trading info is not enough many insurances will deny the claim based exclusively on the no report situation. Even if she admits it was her fault.

But do try to start the paperwork like yesterday, did you contact her insurance yet?
Did you start the claim process?
When they deny you're claim try to go down to the police station maybe by some miracle they can help you out with a police report.

As far as where to take it there is a body shop on tonnelle in jc by the white mana burger place called continental body shop. They are pricey so hopefully you do have that insurance check.
Good luck.

It's still not too late, I think you can still get a report and you still can. That's the only way you can make sure she pays for the damages. It won't go through her insurance just proof of accident.

X2. I checked with 2 body shops to respray my bumper if I carried it in and to hammer out my trunk lid. $1000.00

They know I am trying to do the labor and pocket the rest so they jack up the price so they make my profit.

A high quote is better, more money for you. After you get your insurance money go to another body shop and don't tell them it's an insurance repair. I know people who just lived with the damage because it wasnt that bad and kept the money. Body shops make quotes higher when they know it's an insurance claim. It should only be around three hundred to paint the bumper. An interesting talk about your same situation.

I don't know how the laws work in New Jersey, but in California, the police won't take a report for a minor fender bender with no injuries.

In NJ, there doesn't have to be injuries for the police to be called. It is recommended for people to call the police after an accident so a report is filed. The police report usually determines who is at fault based on what the officer writes from what he sees at the scene.

Oh you can call the police, and they'll show up... but if there's no injuries or a hit and run... there is no report to be taken. They'll just facilitate an exchange of information and be on their way.

What happens if both parties go through insurance and both argue that the other is at fault? How do the insurance companies determine who is at fault without a police report? Is it automatically 50/50 if neither side can reach an agreement?
