Currently I'm running the Morimoto 5000K HID kit purchased from TRS. I have compared the beam pattern to several different cars with stock HIDs and found them to be equal to (if not better) most of the others. Acura, Lexus, and Mercedes can't really beat the beam from my stock coupe projectors. I compared them to a buddies 335ix and can clearly tell them BMW has better projectors, but for the most part there really shouldn't be any reason for people to complain about putting HIDs in the coupes' projectors.

Obviously not every projector lens is going to be able to perform well/safely with minimal glare if it was originally designed for halogen bulbs. The 8th gen coupe seems to be the exception to this rule as they are right on par with higher end stock HID projectors. I'm not just talking about the cutoff line either. We lined the cars up side by side at different distances to get a real comparison of glare and beam pattern under normal conditions.

That being said, I just installed the Optilux Xenon Yellow fogs and also really like the combo. I'll definitely be doing the Silverstar turn signal bulb swap as soon as I can get to Pep Boys. I just wish there was a way to have the lows and fogs on without having that turn signal running light glowing an awkwardly contrasting amber.

Here's a pic, unfortunately the best camera I have also happens to be my only camera, and even worse- it happens to be my cell phone, ha.

Thanks man, I definitely like the way it turned out. And ha yeah it's crazy how heated this topic gets. Both sides have valid points but after comparing these to others I'd say people should stop hating on coupe owners with HIDs since our halogen projectors work almost flawlessly with a quality kit.

I know theres load of room to plug in ballasts behind the fogs, did you mount them with brackets? Any issues with cable clearance? Can some enlighten me, would I need a D2R adapter or I can just get ballasts with h11 connectors?

Sedan is h11 fogs, i think. Coupe uses 9006 I think.

actually you got that opposite. i know for a fact the coupe is H11 and the sedan i believe is 9006.

Looks great man. You should look into led switchbacks for your turn signals. That would get rid of the amber colour in the front at least. I don't know what you could do for the side market though

And yet every Accord coupe I've seen with a HID kit hurts my eyes. Coupes with halogen bulbs do not. High end cars with OEM HID do not.

There is a problem with HID kits in Accord coupes. Younger people are not likely to bothered by it while older people are. This is why self evaluation of headlights is useless and is something we headlight designers never ever do - we know better than that.

Hid's look great. Not a big fan of the yellow, much prefer the hid match color on the fogs i think it would look more uniform. But still looks good.
Long live the hid's, forget the rest.

Thanks! I've thought about switchbacks actually, I'm sure that would be the best choice. With so many low quality LED makers out there I'd be wary of buying a set off eBay. Does anyone know a good site to buy a quality set from?

And HID kit kiddies are going to defend their kits to the very end despite evidence that they've hurt their vision. And life goes on.
