Same problem here only happens with a 90+degree weather. It's been over 100 here in OK and now I notice it does it just driving in my neighborhood with no feet on the gas or brake. I have taken it into the dealership 4 times with it going back in tomorrow. They have looked at the brakes the sway bar the engine cradle? With no luck. I called Honda headquarters and started a case about it. They have been in contact with the dealership and now management is involved. The dealership has been kind enough not to charge a dime from the start. Plus a loaner car ever time. Unfortanatly they know me by name now. I really like the car and don't want to get rid of it. So hopefully with HQ involved it will be fixed. Will keep you guys updated.

2008 Honda Accord EX 57000k stock. No accidents. Original owner.

Threaten them with Lemon Law, if you have it where you are located. They will jump through hoops to fix your car. Here in PA I had a problem took it to the dealer 3 times and finally mentioned lemon law and lo and behold the car finally got fixed.

They are jumping thru hoops for me right now. Free loaner car everytime, not having to pay for anything. That says a lot about dealership. Willing to take care of a customer and that's what I want. No reason to throw the lemon law out there.

Cars wear and tear just like every other car. Are you the first owner? If not you don't know what the previous owner did and you should of purchased a warranty, if you are the first owner then you should have everything fixed under warranty and if your outta warranty then you didn't maintain the car as you should have. The last thing could be that you got the one in a trillion car that had problems.

I've owned 4 hondas and 1 acura which we all know is the same. I never had a problem besides normal wear and tear.

The second I read this thread I thought it's one of the bushings on the front lower contol arms. I have a 94 civic (purchased for the body and makes more power now then the new V6 accord) ANYWAY and when I first bought it the car made a clunk upon stopping and leaving a light or stop sign. I got underneath and didn't see anything. Drove more and more till it got worst. Went under again and really looked at everything till I noticed the the front lower control arm bushing, the one closest to the center of the car, attached to the subframe, was slightly worn. I started to take it apart and off the car it was apparent that the bushing was the reason for the "clunk" I replaced the bushing and the sound never returned.

I am having the exact same problem. Was driving back from Tahoe and the knocking sound started happening also. Would break it and the knocking noise would come. Give it a little gas while going 2 mph, and it would make then noise. Every morning, when I pop it in reserve and does the exaxt same sound. I notice its coming from the front passenger side. If anyone got a fix, post it!!! Whats crazy is the car is a 2012, with only 5000 miles on it.

Well after a week at the dealership and them calling Honda its looks like its the spring shims in the brake calipers were the problem allowing the pads to float more than they should hitting the brake rotors. The pads were chipped at and worn uneven. They waited for 2 days after they installed new shims and drove it both days in the heat with no popping. They are keeping till Monday and will test it again. Crossing fingers!!

Hey guys, I'm new to these fourms but ive been all over the net searching for info on the same issue. I have a 08 accord sedan with 93k with all the same issues. I'm not a mechanic but ive been under hoods for many many hours. I started with the obvious brakes bushings etc... with no luck. Every time i would make a repair either on the rack or on jack stands the noise would go away for a very short time. After going to the dealer several times i got some info that sounds promising. A 30 year master tech told me it is lower ball joints. He explained that years ago honda had brass bushing ball joints and then went to teflon which wear out faster and every time u lift the car and relax the suspension the grease fills the void and temporally removes the noise. Well anyway I bought a set of lower ball joints with brass bushings and will put them on friday when im off and let u guys know if i have any luck with it.

That sounds right because I'm having the same problem and each time I jack the car up and then put it back down the sound goes away. I'm going to replace my ball joints too to see if it works.

I went to the dealership today to test drive the car after they had changed at the shims and didn't notice anything till a little bit later and it started all over again. So I will be looking forward to your try at it.

Okay so I changed my lower ball joints along with the upper b/c I put a camber kit on the car front and rear and a eibach pro-kit. I finished late Friday evening and the alignment was done on Saturday morning. As of now I've driven the car about 30 miles with no issues. I don't think I'm out the woods yet the lower ball joints i removed didn't feel bad @ all I'm gonna cut them open some time this week and inspect them real close. I'll keep ya'll posted with my findings. Hopefully as I drive more this week back and forth to work I wont hear any more noise.

Sorry to hear that you guys are having that problem. I had the same issue on my 08 ex-l v6. I searched for hours and never could figure out what was causing that awful sound until one day i was changing my oil and while waiting for the oil to drain i figured i would check all of my bolts on my undercarrige to make sure they were tight because i have over 90K on my car. On my passenger side all of the bolts where tight but on my drivers side i had one bolt that was loose so i tightened that bolt to about 100lbs with my tourqe wrench. After I droped the car and drove it, I have not heard that sound and that was over a year ago. I just happend to stumble apon your thread because i am looking to mod my car now. Hope this helps you resolve your issue.

Had this issue too. I was fairly upset because the problem happened outside of my 100k warranty but the stand up folks at the dealership took care of me. The tech turned my stereo up and since then the problem has all but gone away. Didn't charge me a dime.
